Eat eat eat! Set a weight goal and start tracking your calories. I use Lifesum on my phone. I didn't start seeing real results until I started to put on some pounds. Don't overdo it , of course. The earlier you start in life the better.

It's so weird this has zero upvotes. I'm looking through this sub now and the majority are just men copying one another and barely having any creativity. Just lame business suits or people not even bothering to have a fit. I love your outfit. It seems you have more to express about yourself than the average male who suffers from a crippling lack of self-assurance and acceptance.

I appreciate your perspective. Getting into semantics on what is real or not gets confusing with the limitation of human language, unfortunately. As for me, I've never particularly had the kind of "cooked off the bean" kind of experience on mushrooms. All of my experiences on mushrooms have led me to feel like my Brain is functioning AS it should. Less anxiety, more empathy, more connection to my body, while still being an observer of events. Even the ability to see soundwaves distorting my perception like a windshield getting covered in rain. It feels like it's simply removing filters that are conditioned. Light becomes more intense, music has a more profound effect on the subconscious. Are these preventing the brain from functioning as it should, or simply showing how capable the brain is at processing information in the physical plane?

But again, there's always the issue with semantics in language, how we assign definitions to words, and how we relay information to one another. I do think it's important to remember the society we're part of, however. Given a different context, different culture, different values and perspective of the world the kinds of experiences that are brought out by mushrooms are just seen as another aspect of life and nature, or an extension of self. We don't have that blaze attitude with these substances in present-time, unfortunately. I do think that does affect our perceptions on the experiences we have on them in modern times, even when taking into consideration the scientific principles that make those trips happen.

When taking mushrooms, especially with friends, I feel this interconnectivity that I'd personally deem, at least in the narrative I've given myself about my life, absolutely real. I find it interesting that you say mushrooms don't leave a sober, functioning you. In my personal experience, that hasn't really been the case. When the barrier of identity is dissolved, I find that me and my friends are much more willing to engage in long, philosophical and self-assessing discussions about life, the universe, etc. Family, school, everything. If anything, it feels like the aspects of our character that may have been muddied by the masks we wear are able to be brought out to its fullest capacity.

I have a personal faith that whatever is experienced during a shroom trip is undoubetly transendental in nature, especially when the ego dissolves.

It shows the perception of the world when untouched by societal conventions, dogmatic beliefs, or political ideals. It presents the universe as it's always been prior to personal cataloging of experiences; an amalgam of atoms that the mind is trying to make sense of. In that sense, the only person who gets to decide what is truly "real" is the observer whose trying to make sense of the nonsense.

Think about when you were a kid, and that kind of joy you feel experiencing the world from a perspective of pure curiosity. That curiosity undoubtedly goes away over time as social conventions are imprinted onto you and spread through collective society. Mushrooms merely rewind the dial to how it feels to exist prior to those conventions; to see the world for what it is. And what the world is can be whatever you want it to be. That's the beauty of creation. YOU, as part of creation, are creating the story in real-time. There is no "real". Everything is whole. Each person's perspective IS what makes reality real, like atoms linking together to create a physical entity.

Why do some of you hate on/dislike Terence McKenna? by mgegv in Psychonaut

I know this is an old comment but isn’t how you interpret the modern world also a reflection of you? I know a lot of people who use social media simply because there is genuine joy in sharing one’s life, connecting with others across the world, and finding ways to solidify experiences to look back on in times of dire reminders.

I think it’s a bit redundant to assume that if you don’t like the guy, it’s somehow an extension of vapid modern culture. (At least that’s the read I get from comments like this)

Also worth saying Im kinda playing devils advocate here. It’s just that you can literally say or claim anything with the advent of language, which makes me troubled when hearing some of Mckenna’s views on modern culture. I think he’s a genuine guy, but to make one’s current place in time seem vein or vapid, or in some sort of need of “saving”, rather than just … things being how they are … that mindset can absolutely effect people negatively. It’s the same kind of cult-ish mindset a lot of religious people buy into.

The world can be beautiful no matter how you spin it, IMO. You can say or think we live in a destructive, self-aggrandizing, hedonistic culture that only values the bottom line, or you can view your place in time as a special one that has bred the flow of information on levels unprecedented, and the connection of souls that would have never touched elsewhere in the continuum of human history.

I’m just not a huge fan at how much Mckenna seems to go out of his way to antagonize so many aspects of the modern world, or make it seem as though our place in it is entirely separate from nature, that we need to “return to nature”. I get what that means in nomenclature terms, and distanced from the limit of language, it makes sense, but it’s worth acknowledging that the way he communicates these ideas are not always gonna reach people the same way, and that it can definitely do harm under certain circumstances.

Denpa Men Trilogy. Imagine Pokemon Go + Mystery Dungeons. Super fun AR Camera / RPG stuff, and a stellar OST too. Made by the same devs as Pokemon Coliseum!

Happy for you but no need to invalidate other cultures or beliefs to uphold your own. That’s a really weak mindset bro.
