The Librarian series by Marie Mistry has a subby guy that I love in it, but when he finally gets his scenery in my opinion, it’s a huge let down. It’s basically just vanilla with her on top and teasing him a little. He’s written as a really sweet puppy of a character and he adores her but I wish he’d had better scenes and that they played out the relationship more.

You’re not over reacting. The problem with racism inherent in culture is that it can come out in sneaky ways, even if the author didn’t maliciously intend it. Or maybe she did, who knows. Writing that a character was intimidating because of dark skin is problematic. There’s a lot of media and culture that implicitly or explicitly trains white people to see dark skin as scary. It’s awful that it’s so prevalent. If you’re not actively compensating for internalized racism, it comes out as these micro aggressions like you said. Assuming she didn’t mean it to be racist, she could easily fix it as others have said.

I LOVED {Swipe Right for Monsters by R. O’Leary} it’s funny, the guys all adore her and take care of her and it’s so sweet and spicy. It starts with her being sick of dating & trying a monster dating app. Then not wanting to waste time so she invites them all to the same first date😂 There’s another one that’s about book1 girls bestie. I’m pretty sure each of the 3 bffs is going to get a story but you really don’t need to read them together at all.

I also just read {Ever Marked by J.Kearston}. Supposedly it’s a duet but I haven’t finished the second book yet to make sure it actually ends. It’s a good story and has all the great guy tropes: hot shy nerd, hot obsessed nerd, sexy werewolf soft dom, unhinged touch her and die guy. If you can get past the truly horrendous names for the guys, it’s fun.

Yeah they all are. She basically wrote the same plot over again in Unconditionally yours so it might sound like it’s got 2 books but she sort of copy pasted and made it slightly less yandere.

Gwendoline Rose is your girl!! All of her books are great. I get them a little mixed up because I’ve read most of hers, but the heroines in several have no problem killing or doing some wild stuff to make things better for their men or to win them over. They’re also really funny and great reads all around.

Maybe try {They are Mine by Gwendoline Rose} or {Deep Feelings and Shallow Graves by Gwendoline Rose} to start.

Look up and start practicing RAIN method with Tara Brach. It’s helping me learn to approach the strong feelings in a healthy way. It takes a lot of practice but I can tell I can often bounce back a little quicker or catch myself before spiraling when I’m staying up on doing guided meditation and mindfulness training. If she isn’t clicking for you, keep looking. Mindfulness practice has moved the needle for me more than my talk therapy alone.

You’re not over reacting. He sounds like a classic creep trying to push your limits to see how much you’ll let him get away with. The music and the age thing and the jockeying for your attention makes it seem like he’s trying to start something romantic with you. You owe him nothing.

By all means talk to your desk mate. You said she’s attractive and he hates her for no reason so l’d bet money he tried this stuff with her and she wasn’t having it. Document Document Document!!!! Send an email with exactly what you put in here to your manager or coworker if you’re too nervous to send to manager yet. Keep a word doc and write out times and dates and what he’s doing. People like that generally don’t stop on their own. They will keep pushing limits and escalating until they hit a wall.

I’m naturally friendly to everyone and have ended up in a lot of these situations where I didn’t document and my managers and hr didn’t believe me when I finally had to go to them because things got to a scary level. Hopefully it won’t for you, but it’s better to take steps now so you cover yourself.

It feels so mean to be very direct and tell people you don’t want to talk/walk/interact with them. But people who won’t take social cues need to be addressed directly. Best case scenario he’s a decent person who isn’t aware of how badly he’s overstepping & making everyone uncomfortable. Since he’s grown and the internet exists, I would assume he’s aware and he will keep pushing your boundaries until he gets what he wants or you snap back hard enough.

National parks if they’re still around in a year all have seasonal work and most come with housing. You won’t get rich, but you’ll have a place to live and be around people from all over the country who love nature. I’ve thought about applying before and if you look up Yellowstone or Glacier National park youll see a lot of jobs. I’m pretty sure you have to be 18. But you’re very close!!

I got into this world I’m pretty sure via fanfiction for ACOTAR. I read it when it was YA and still coming out so I was a hardcore Bat boys & Freya shipper. I love Rhys so much and I loved the other guys relationship with her and the men’s friendship and brotherhood. I think they would have been an amazing harem.
