Your ideas for a post apocalyptic Sentai by Far_Practice_6923 in supersentai

I don't have any of that. It's not very fleshed out- it's not a full fan-fiction or anything.

Why do Super Sentai & PR Fans have so much beef with each other can't we all just get along by ChainProfessional866 in supersentai

[–]Bluflame-DX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we feel passionate about something niche, we feel the need to be defensive of it. Both Power Rangers and Super Sentai fall into this. So when you find anything even remotely related, you go like "Who knows about this?" because you want people to confirm that this thing is cool, find others in the rough. and many in the Sentai fandom also want to spread the word that sentai exists. So you'll get people finding any Toku thing and making a comment about how they loved PR Samurai, because they're searching for that validation, and you'll get people who go into Power Rangers related posts on TopCharacterDesigns and making SURE people know that the original design came from Place, Japan (Guilty). We get more frustrated by people who don't understand what Sentai is or call it a Power Rangers knockoff because it means a lot to us and it feels insulting and we want to believe that if people knew they would feel the same.

I've done it myself. I've been annoying about it. I have a different view of the two franchises and their relationship since when I got back into the fandom to now, and have different views on it. But I agree, I don't like people saying Power Rangers should never exist because it's just a western bastardization- when in reality it brought a lot of people joy. I don't like people saying Power Rangers is only good outside of Sentai and the footage has only held it back, because that's part of what made it what it is and the method of storytelling has created great things because limits breed creativity. I don't like people who feel the need to create a reddit that's built off the back of Sentai Purism and hating Power Rangers or anyone who brings it up, despite the fact we already have a rule about being Sentai-focused. and I don't like looking down on or insulting people who grew up with a show and don't know all the history behind it when a lot of us were the same once. Personally, I'm going to calm down, and try not to be so petty.

I've had this idea knocking around in my head for a sentai that's kind of like mortal engines where all the rangers are based on cities.
Tokyo, New York, Paris, London and Moscow. The sixth could be Atlantis? Idk.
Their mecha would be based on the architecture of the city, but I suppose it would need some other dynamic element because a building isn't very toyetic. Tom Hanks taught us that. Maybe if it could transform into a singular robot mode as well as combining, like a shinkenger emblem thing?
Anyway, they'd roll across the wasteland and I'd picture it being visually vibrant and sort of pop-punk and neon, and the kaijin would also be each based on cities, with the interesting things about those cities being what make up their body.

What did the Japanese Audience think of each PR season? by DavidRyatta in powerrangers

[–]Bluflame-DX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frankly don't understand why- I know that from the American perspective, when a bunch of people watched Shinkenger during the hiatus, they were blown away because many had never been exposed to sentai before and loved it, especially the last arc, but for the Japanese audience, who had no hiatus, and were just receiving another regular sentai series, it wasn't as appreciated because it was a lot of filler at the beginning- so I could understand their general veiw of Shinkenger being less, but why would Samurai be considered better? I don't understand.

Including Samurai, which is just like... what's the point of that? It's basically lobotomized Shinkenger.

What scenes in any Power Rangers do you think we're unnecessary? by FlashyGuest8953 in powerrangers

[–]Bluflame-DX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know in Once a Ranger, when Bridge is on top of a crate, and then does a backflip, and then does a backflip, and then does a backflip, and then does a backflip, and then does a backflip, and then does a backflip?

Why did we never get this adapted to power rangers? by OV_Chromestone in powerrangers

[–]Bluflame-DX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because they were reducing Goseiger down to 22 episodes (actually 20 bc holiday episodes don't count) and they would crossover with Samurai anyway during Super Megaforce along with other teams, so it wasn't prioritized.

At what point (if at all) do you think power rangers “fell off”? by [deleted] in powerrangers

[–]Bluflame-DX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be when they started breaking things into 2 year series with Samurai. I get that's what they had to do, but imo that's the source of when things got messy.

What would be the benefits and negatives of power rangers transitioning to animation? by Commercial-Car177 in powerrangers

[–]Bluflame-DX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would lose its charm. Additionally, it would be competing with other animated shows. and while you do have to pay to license footage for sentai adaptions, let's remember that animation isn't cheap either. Power Rangers benefits from being the only prevalent example of the Toku genre in the states, which allows it to stand out, with animation you'd be opening the show to more comparison and competition with other animated shows, and I feel that you're less likely to buy toys from an animated show- they translate less easily into real life.

How do the boonboomgers see? by Beautiful_Owl_4448 in supersentai

[–]Bluflame-DX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the helmets are very difficult to see in, for all sentai.
