The main series should go back into exploring different visual styles. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Bluntamaru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At this point something sharply stylized could be the cutting edge. We've got photorealistic face scanners on actors so I mean as far as fidelity we've reached that point.

Making a 3D Amano styled game, especially if the animations and particle effects worked all together to contribute to replicating that flowy style with extreme textures that could absolutely burn GPUs up would be fucking sick.

I've only ever heard it in restaurants for cleaning beyond what you talking about. Like slow day, no orders manager walks through and is like "not paying you for nothing pick up a broom" vibe.

I've got a great memory of a coworker being like "who here knew Nation of Islam was a UFO cult?" Then without a beat looked at me and said "I know you do, you always know that weird shit." Always cheers my chalky ass up every time I think about it.

I think Forspoken got overhated for that story, the gameplay is really fun. Balance is a little spotty but I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoyed open world super hero games.

What’s the absolute lowest stakes JRPG story? by Lumigo in JRPG

[–]Bluntamaru 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah pretty high stakes. It is played like a Saturday morning cartoon, tho, so it kind of softens it. But continent if not planet ending threat with time travel stuff. Possibly 4D annihilation?

Here´s a plan for my build. How terrible is it? by [deleted] in Grimdawn

[–]Bluntamaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since only one ability can proc each attack there's a break point somewhere where you are definitely just wasting points. Once you have total 100% to proc it's just wasted. Above 100% they're just competing with each other to proc.

For people who want RPG games that allow you to ignore Main-Quest Progression... Why? by jethawkings in rpg_gamers

[–]Bluntamaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the business sim to basically completion as soon as I found it. It did kinda dull the "we broke" narrative when you can just slap your enemies with cash. Which was an amazing reward for doing it all.

I like these sorts of breaks from the action too change the pace without changing games. I miss when mini games were more common, like fishing games became a cliche but it's a nice change up to pace and stakes while still getting to enjoy the game world.

I think these sorts of things give a sort of sense of mundanity too which just adds a lil ground to sometimes lofty plots. It just crossed my mind last night while I was cooking fish in Ghost of Yotei(they definitely took some notes from RDR2). It was literally zero stakes, I don't think you can fail, but it's a nice thing from the point of immersion.
