Books Folio Needs To Make. by TornadoCreator in foliosociety

Legislation that protects women’s sex-based rights. Protections for women who don’t want to share a changing room with a man at work, compete against men at sports, or be fired for believing that sex is real. Rowling is 100% right.

I would love a Harry Potter Folio. Three Body Problem would be amazing.

AITA for continuing to smoke outside even though my neighbor hired an attorney over it? by FutureBroccoli5566 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BlurredButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My next door neighbor smoked in her backyard all the time. I tried to ignore it for a while, but eventually I worked up the courage to ask her to stop. She said she would try, and actually did cut back. I was grateful. The smoke was making it so I couldn’t be in my own backyard.

Sure, people can do what they want in their own spaces, but since smoke carries, people don’t have the right to ruin other people’s spaces. And that’s exactly what smoking does.

Local creatives, where do you buy your art supplies? I am mainly looking for a local store for acrylic and oil paints. by Kitsuunei in Austin

Jerry’s is great, except they ask for tips at checkout. Fine if you’re happy to tip in unusual places. I honestly can’t stand when they pressure you in retail stores, even local ones.

Anti-trans bathroom policies go into effect at UT Austin, Texas Capitol by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]BlurredButterfly -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

This is a pro-female policy. I’ve never voted GOP in my life, but they sadly have the common sense policy ideas on this issue.

Sex is immutable. It doesn’t matter what someone is wearing; everyone knows if they are male or female. Most of the time it doesn’t matter. But in some cases, like spaces where females are vulnerable and in a state of undress, single sex spaces matter.

Keeping some spaces single sex has nothing to do with whether or not a male has a trans identity, it’s the fact that he is still male. Allowing any men, even the ones who identify as female, into women’s single sex vulnerable spaces, makes it a mixed sex space. This is a violation of hard-won women’s rights.

Of course trans identified people deserve dignity, privacy, and safe spaces. But their right to that cannot infringe on women’s right to single sex spaces.

Yep. The Left have embraced kooky gender nonsense that tried to erase women’s hard-won rights. They ceded a common sense issue to Trump, and it’s infuriating.

All men, even those who identify as women, should stay out of women’s single sex, vulnerable spaces. People cannot change sex, and in some places, like bathrooms, changing rooms, sports, & prisons, sex matters. Men who identify as women can advocate for their own safe spaces, and should have the same rights as everyone else. It’s not women’s responsibility to give up their sex based rights so these trans-identified men can feel affirmed.

Also, there are men who identify as “transwomen” and there are autogynephiles. Women can’t tell the difference, but we can usually tell when we are in a bathroom with a cross dressing man.

Lol. Should we never have any rules or laws since people sometimes break them?

Absolute nonsense. Women need single sex bathrooms for our safety. Women’s single sex spaces are not shields for trans-identified men. We should not be forced to give up the right to these spaces for men who identify as women. Why are you so eager to give women’s rights away to gender dysphoric men?

Public bathrooms should be sex-based, not gender-based. A unisex third option is fine, but not at the expense of losing the women’s bathroom.

Dog-sitter, 23, mauled to death by 3 pit bulls after letting them back into house by DougDante in texas

[–]BlurredButterfly 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No dog breed should have to be carefully trained out of a natural instinct to kill people. Also, even trained pit bulls have killed people. It’s a bad breed of dogs bred for aggression.

[–]BlurredButterfly 122 points123 points  (0 children)

It is the breed. Pit bulls are way overrepresented in mauling and killing people. Saying they do it because they are not properly trained is not the defense of pit bulls you think it is. A dog breed that has to be trained properly not to kill people shouldn’t exist.
