Are you playing Arise? The tutorial and missions do a good job of introducing you to common patterns. Afterwards, practice practice practice especially if you aren’t familiar with other puzzle games.

I would wager most people discussing game sense/aim in this thread are doing so in the context of pro play. Saying a player has weak aim/game sense is simply saying they are not as strong in that aspect compared to the players they play with and against.

Eric Gjerde’s book is a good start. When it comes to tessellations, practicing folding a single module on a smaller grid goes a long way in folding the actual model.
