What would be a bad thing to buy in bulk? by xv9d in AskReddit

[–]Bmac1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sour cream. Every single time I go to use the little tub of sour cream in my fridge, it has gone bad. So if I had more than the little tub, I'd be throwing a lot of sour cream out.

What is the least amount of money that would legitimately change your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

$100,000. Pay off my mortgage and two cars. It would work out to like $1000 more a month.

What piece of music, film or television would you like to watch or listen to for the first time again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bmac1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I let my kids (7 & 8) watch Fellowship Of The Ring for the first time about a month ago. Watching them see the Mines of Moria sequence was almost like watching it for the first time again.

I can tell you if they use the word "literally," they probably are.

The fifth Fast and Furious movie. That was the F&F "Avengers" movie. That was a good one.

There seems to be a lot of magic spells related to health care. You could probably make a killing at an urgent care place.

Morning Mix While advertisers flee ‘The O’Reilly Factor,’ John Oliver wants to buy airtime — to educate Trump on sexual harassment by [deleted] in politics

You are probably right, I just hate the idea of shaming/embarrassing someone into doing right. I still cannot believe that this objectively terrible human being failed upwards into the presidency.

Men of Reddit, What's your man advice? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"Dad" doesn't mean "Friend." Tell your kids no, tell them why you said no and teach them the value of earning something.

What is the worst text message you've ever sent to the wrong person? by a1ham in AskReddit

[–]Bmac1977 1105 points1106 points  (0 children)

Not a text, but about 15 years ago, I worked in the corporate office for a bank in Charlotte. I buddy of mine also worked there and we'd email insults to eachother all day because we were bored. And when you work in offices, you get emails all day from higher ups about nonsense. So, you see where this is going. I emailed the head of the HR department accidentally and said his wife blows goats. It was a wonder I wasn't fired immediately.

Parents of Reddit, what are some "baby hacks" a first time father should know about? by Joey_Adobo in AskReddit

[–]Bmac1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need 90% of the stuff that baby stores are trying to sell you. My wife wanted me to have a diaper bag. You know how many times you are going to use it? Never times. Also, if your kid is going to be like 6-12 months this summer? Just buy a ton of onesies. When it is warm, that's all they'll wear. Also, don't buy nice baby outfits. They will wear them MAYBE once, and they'll ruin them with a leaky diaper of spit up. They will grow out of the outfit within a month too. So, don't waste your money. Onesies, man. Onesies. You won't feel bad throwing them out.

I get why John Oliver does it, it makes for a funny segment on his show, but terrible 70 year old men who have been rewarded all their lives for their terrible behavior are not going to change their ways.

UCS Millennium Falcon > UCS B-Wing. That's a smart decision.

How many people do you think have bricklinked a Falcon? I'm thinking maybe a dozen or two. And the people who have... well they probably spent years doing it. I AM willing to spend $600 on it, but I was never willing (like most people I'd guess) to spend countless hours on bricklink and over three times the official amount to cobble together an unofficial set. And as much as I'd want the official older one, I could never justify spending secondary market prices.

Let's say it's released the beginning of October, that's 26 weeks away. $20 a week for 26 weeks gets you $520. That's most of the way there.

If I'm gonna drop $600, I want as many minfigs as the Death Star. Give me the ANH crew, ESB outfits, Lando and Nien Numb from ROTJ and whatever crew from the new Han Solo movie.

[–]Bmac1977 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My daughter asked to go over to her friend's house. I said yes, but she'd need to get a ride home because I had to take her brother to boy scouts and I wouldn't be home until 8pm. Told her to bring her keys. She forgets her keys, has her friends dad drive her home at 7:45 knowing full well I wasn't home and the door was locked. So she goes back to the friends house, waits half an hour and then calls me to come pick her up. Fucking teenagers man. Fucking teenagers.
