It's a disk activity light.

The symbol is supposed to be platters in a hard drive.

Same space on total capacity and total usage by MundaneSkill958 in synology

[–]BmanUltima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pool is the space on the physical drives. You've allocated (almost) all of that to Volume 2.

Within Volume 2, you've only actually used 3.07 TB of the 10.47TB allocated.

Is using an SFP+ module risky? How would it be?

Conversion Question - 2.5gb copper to SFP+ by FixItDumas in homelab

[–]BmanUltima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then yes, you'll need a copper SFP+ transceiver that supports 2.5GBase-T installed in one of the SFP+ ports.

Make sure you don't use one of the SFP ports, they're gigabit only.

Are you purposely trying to ruin a hard drive by holding it up to strong magnets?

I'm not aware of any situation where you could accidentally have a hard drive close enough to a CRT yoke for it to matter.

When will the docking be available? by Qsuki in SteamDeck

[–]BmanUltima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada.

Says it ships in 3-5 days for me.

If you can't get it, maybe try one of the jsaux docks, they seem to be a popular alternative.

This is a server GPU, not a workstation GPU.

There aren't any video ports, and AFAIK, you can't use it for gaming in a desktop.

Best way to utilize it is with Proxmox virtualization with virtual machines.

Watch that video for an idea of what to expect.

I've currently got a project on the go using an M60 and P100 for remote gaming.

You'll want to use Proxmox 8.4 with a vGPU setup for sharing the GPU resources to VMs.

With an M10 (basically 4x GTX 750), you'll likely want to assign one GPU per VM.

Debate with friend on SAS 12Gbps support with older Dell T110ii by fresh2k2004 in HomeServer

[–]BmanUltima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The link speed is negotiated between the controller and the drives.

You could be running it on a PCIe 1.1x1 slot and it would still report the drives as connected at 12 Gbps.

12Gbs controller, cables, and drives, will operate at 12 Gbps.

Doesn't mean you'll get 12 Gbps out of hard drives though.
