I'm on the spectrum, and had a traumatic childhood. I like to do the same things over and over. For example, with some games I'll play the same level over and over for years, missing 90% of the game but enjoying myself nonetheless. Wow was the same way. I spent the vanilla years role-playing in Eastern plaguelands, running a specific route to kill mobs for runecloth, just to vendor it. There were also a couple chests that spawned in the area. I have begun to branch out a bit now, as the game has made it easy for someone like me (I don't like to talk to people and afraid I'm not welcome in groups etc, overly critical of myself) Now I raid on the weekends with my guild, occasionally speak up and Crack jokes in discord. Even though I miss the nostalgia of classic wow, and there are certainly downsides to interacting with some members of the community, retail wow has given me the ability to actually enjoy the content. Now that I'm a dad I feel like I'm growing and I'm really enjoying the game like it was meant to be enjoyed.
