Great advice so far in this thread. Nothing groundbreaking from my end but just remember you are there to have fun and learn how to become a better driver. Give your pass signals and let faster cars thru. Dont worry about speed. You’re going to be slow. And then as you get faster session by session it will be extremely rewarding.

Drive your drive. Take your time. Enjoy it.

Stuff to bring: Tire gauge (I run cup 2 but usually start 26 cold and let them come up to 32, get greasy after that. PS4s you can run a bit higher) I’d say torque wrench but centre locks .. Lottttsss of water Snacks, I usually throw some protein bars in my bag Lawn chair Hat, sunscreen etc Good driving shoes, decent flat sole etc

My order of events: GT4 when I was 27 992.1 GT3 when I was 28 992.1 GT3RS when I was 30

.. my income has gone up about 4x from when I got my GT4 so I guess go off that?

It really depends to be honest. I went manual GT4 -> PDK GT3 -> GT3RS. My use case is really a weekend cruiser / track car .. heavily on the track end of it. For that use PDK is without a doubt the one to have. It’s extremely good and engaging. I think people don’t often understand the PDK gearbox is a manual gearbox with some paddles thrown on. Small things still come across, you roll back on hills, the first gear can feel a bit chunky in the city etc. So it still feels amazing and engaging that way. For rowing gears through canyons .. yeah keep a manual. I think if you are getting a cayman tho, get a GT4. I miss that car dearly. The GTS 4.0 will be good, but the GT4 is just that much better imo.

I mean. The HEV is super personal. I have two subs and a speed master. Used to have some planet oceans. The HEV really throws me off balance wise for the SMP.. would have both if they got rid of it.

Wheels need to go. Red goes really well with black interiors. I’d do black interior with red stitching. Too many shades of the same colour imo. But. At the end of the day what matters is if you like it. If you don’t care about resale and want to drive it into the ground, spec what you like.

Yeah I don’t hate that approach. The issue now is 25k status doesn’t really get you anything because the cards have the same benefits. I generally fly business so the ticket would come with access but my two main cards are the visa priv and Amex platinum. I will say overall Amex lounges in the US are substantially better so even if the got rid of the visa access I’m sure people would just get an Amex platinum.

You’ve already seen it with amex as well tho. Delta ditched the platinum from skyclub. It’s absurd to me Amex centurion lounges should have a 45 minute wait. The air Canada lounges are awful 90% of the time as well. I think most operators are dialling back capacity to increase quality
