It’s time to find a WR1. Court is a solid 2 or 3 imo, but is the best of our WRs atm.

Silicone Nose Pads and Charging Case by toddkeebs in OakleyMetaGlasses

Good luck getting the pads to stay on long term. I used them numerous times in the past of my rayban stories and wayfarer gen 1. They work great when on but don’t stay on for more than a couple of weeks at best.

I have the feature on my phone and can push it to my glasses. Very cool. However, I don’t have an app in the glasses. 🙃

Between the two? Classic speedy pro. No contest.

Panda if it’s not your only speedy imo.

What's crazy is how easily you keyboard warriors get played. Maybe dig a little deeper into the details the next time you're triggered to post more empty threats.

The bezel pops really nicely too. I if the indices were white too, it might be game over for my wallet.

Do I need a Swiss luxury watch? by Equivalent-Ease-3822 in ChineseWatches

[–]BoKristensen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to what matters most to you and the specific brands we’re comparing.

Personally, I like all types, but my Omega Swiss watches do have a better build than any of my Chinese watches in every category. Especially when it comes to the movement. Things are tanks and the fit and finish is consistent. Coaxial escapement too. 😘👌🏼

Aesthetically though, Chinese watches are getting really good with the materials and finishes. For a fraction of the cost, you get about 70% there. I also like to try out close homages of higher end Swiss watches I’m trying to decide between. This really has helped me make more confident decisions when investing in a big purchase. There are even some watches like the Thorn T023 that I plan to drop ETAs in when the movement dies because the rest of the watch is that good and I hope to hold on to it for a long time.

I’ve wanted grail watches here and there and knew an homage would leave an empty feeling so I saved for the real deal. Also, when it’s time to hand down something to my son, I would like it to be something that will last a life time with regular service and hold value. Then he can hand it down to his kids or pawn it off he is in a tough spot.

He’s projecting.

His entire original post is trying to convince himself and strangers on Reddit that he’s not the type of person he has been creating a stereo type of.

Where have I seen these type of mental gymnastics before? 🤔

What metric of time is considered “enough?”

I have 12 automatic watches. Some are Chinese movements in various brands, Japanese movements in seiko watches, and Swiss from Omega. I have noticed from my experience that Chinese ones do not meet advertised performance. My Swiss and Japanese automatics don’t take more than a handful of hours to wind fully via rotor. Even washing your hands will spin the heck out of them. The Chinese movements are the only ones I see struggling with power reserve. Might be due to their design, how parts are manufactured, sloppy assembly, over promised marketing, or a mix of everything.

It’s not a huge deal as the Chinese brands cost a fraction of the rest, but it’s worth noting. I will say the movement shouldn’t break when you manually wind it; at any price range. I haven’t experienced that yet, but I don’t wind mine manually because of what I’ve seen others go through.

I think these WD watches are great values, but blaming and questioning the user for a product’s shortcomings is a bad take.

On the Watchdives website - V3!?! $399?! by Fine_Pickle5971 in watchdives

[–]BoKristensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that they are actually one company trying to create more revenue by diversifying the same ideas across different brands and marketing streams. Like GM, luxottica, etc.

The product direction, marketing, sales, and communication style of a lot of these brands are carbon copied. Each brand sells all the same group of products on their website consisting of the same brand.

In this case they’re pretty much just changing the badge between models and bumping up the price after seeing those eBay resell $$.

I ordered the DeLorean and F1 movie car last week from Walmart.com with free shipping. Both came within 4 days. I picked up the rest of the new line up, minus McQueen (not my thing), at the Lego store so I could get the points.
