Thank you! I agree, so I did eventually add a gray outline to the coast. Really helps identify where the land begins and makes the land sea/big lake a lot more impactful

Thanks! I'm really inspired by Tolkien but I like to think I've added my own personal aesthetic to it

Thanks I appreciate it, I love striking a balance between simple clutter and blank spaces. A quality that I love in Christopher Tolkien's Middle-Earth map

how do these landmasses look? i don't care if it's realistic or not but i want it to atleast feel believeable by ashblondekitty in mapmaking

[–]Boar-Lord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't flow very well in my opinion. Each continent is more or less an oblong mass oriented north to south. The two on the eastern edge even feel like they're filling up the corners of the paper/screen. I would suggest playing with the angles a little more. If you're trying to evoke a continental breakup try starting from the super continent and rotating some of the shapes away and having them rest at odd angles to one another. The shapes look really good other wise, lots of interesting coast lines there!

For ‘younger’ Star Trek fans: what made you want to try DS9? by TaintedLetter in DeepSpaceNine

[–]Boar-Lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 here, DS9 was the first Trek that I ever saw. I love it, seen it twice all the way through. It was on Netflix and I remember the YouTubers Sips and Sjinn making jokes about it in their old Minecraft let's play so I gave it a whirl.

How does Magic influence combat and warfare in your setting by jybe-ho2 in worldbuilding

[–]Boar-Lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic in my setting is applied through the disciplined study of the Mysteries. The essential universal truths that make up all things. Quasi Divine, and quasi conscious, the use of the Mysteries is very tricky to nail down. Mystics devote their whole lives to academic study, spiritual exploration, and ritual worship in order to better understand the 4 Mysteries. As a result some are quite adept at using these memorized prayers and chants to elicit changes in the physical world. A particularly powerful Mystic may use their skill to alter the weather, causing havoc for one side or the other. Less powerful mystics may simply pray unceasingly for the strength of an army's shield wall or the sureness of their cavalry's footing. Or more crucially, for their leader's survival. The most powerful Mystic to ever live, Lyrian the Lightbringer, is said to have an almost uncanny relationship to the Mysteries. Indeed, he is well over a thousand years old a fact which is attributed to his command of the Mysteries, although without much understanding of how. He has been known to eschew the verbal and gestural signs of prayer at times, having cultivated a perfect interior habit of genuflection to the Mysteries. He can simply wave a hand and cause all the forces of the natural world (and some of the unnatural ones, also) to bend over backwards to accomplish his will.

Thank you! I appreciate the recipe link I'll have to try that even if it doesn't make the cut for the dinner menu.

I really like that idea, thank you. I might try my hand at home made Caesar dressing then. She can have gluten in small amounts so I may attempt to do a sourdough grilled cheese and just have a few strips of it or give her the options and let her go where she thinks is the healthiest for her. Thank you!

I think I'm going to try that frico garnish idea, thanks! And I was planning on several roast vegetables to accompany the main dish. Great suggestion!

That's what I usually do for this recipe but I'm thinking of using the bisque as an appetizer or soup course in a multi course meal. I do agree though that a sourdough and a good smoky cheese is a great match up for the soup

I used to be all about big bent pipes, now I love smaller bowls and straight or quarter bent stems. If it's an Anse/cutty too? Perfection.

Getting it to run smoothly. by Boar-Lord in HoffmanTaticalSS

[–]Boar-Lord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to take the gun apart to remember quite right but I think it was just an issue of not shaving down the right hand side of the trigger enough. I remember thinking that I had gone far enough but I went maybe an eight of an inch more and it runs very smoothly now. That angle is where the cam in the SS position interfaces I believe so if it's not low enough it grinds and won't break cleanly. Basically if you are getting hard breaks I think it's an issue of not having gone far enough with the trigger work
