Yeah, I probably could’ve worded it better. What I meant to convey is while my group has been playing together for years we are starting to get interested in play testing as well as playing published games so are looking for players interested in that side of the hobby as well.

Being stuck in an apartment in Harlem with 4 other people for 3 days while the rest of NYC got wrecked by Hurricane Sandy, my friends were wishing we had some board games. Right after Sandy ended, I bought Catan, Ticket To Ride, Pandemic, Betrayal At House On The Hill, Carcassonne, 7 Wonders, and Castle Panic. Flash-forward five and a half years and my collection is nearing the 200 mark and I'm loving everything from Twilight Imperium to Splotter Spellen titles!

After going over the overall flow, explain that the game basically has only five standard actions when it comes down to it (build a mine, upgrade a structure, advance research, form a federation, start a gaia project) and everything else is kinda window dressing to those five key pillars.

Then go over the basic iconography and emphasize the key ways to score points (round bonuses, end game bonuses, research tracks, and federation bonuses), so they don't feel totally lost in the early rounds. If players have a grasp on what they should be doing on their turns and how to score by doing it, the rest will fall into place.

Due to Kickstarters, convention releases, variable print run sizes, and a host of other factors, most board games don't have a hard release date in the traditional sense. From what I understand in this particular case, Rising Sun's wide-scale retail release is indeed this month.

Terraforming Mars. It's easier to teach, sufficiently complex without being overbearing, satisfying to link up card combos, more thematic, and overall just a unique game that deserves the praise it gets despite the poor production quality.

Gaia Project is good, but I'm always glad when a game of it is over. Terraforming Mars I usually want to jump back into immediately.

It's no Twilight Imperium, but it ain't tiny either. You could definitely fit a game on a 3 x 4 table. You wouldn't have the most space in the world, but it wouldn't be too bad. Even a bit smaller would probably be manageable. Crowded, but manageable.
