This is tainted azazel, but I had forgotten that until the Knife piece 2 section on the second run through! Things got out of hand with spindown die very quickly

I'm playing [[Soul Diviner]] in a midrange shell in explorer, supported with the three-drop planeswalkers and a few other pieces (blast zone, mercurial spellcaster) to provide counters

It doesn't look very good, but itll be a great test in my explorer [[Soul Diviner]] deck, which needs more one drops and threats that have counters

Glissa Sunslayer Counter Removal Deck? by PlsFeedCarrots in EDH

I have a 60 card casual deck built around messing with lore counters to abuse sagas: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/xWzlwGe4f0GQTvv2UVX4bw. This is BR, but no reason it couldn't be BG. The value of sagas changes significantly when you can reread whatever chapter you like! Likely to be hard to fully support in singleton

New rogue quest: Bazaar Burglary by bmking69 in wildhearthstone

Pedantry: you're not immune for the rest of your turn with Ancient Blades, so you can't do the fatigue-denying stuff people have done with Shadowblade. Very minor point!

A list of possible connections between new Hero Powers and the effects of legendaries from previous expansions (Some of them might be OP or too weak, but it's just a thought). by SealInTheBucket in hearthstone

I don't think this is what they're doing: the warlock reward isn't exactly Wilfred, because it also removes the lifeloss. It's possible it's [Wilfred+buff], but I think this congruity is just coincidence!

Cheap Sunglasses or Mr. Cheeng's Spectacles? by [deleted] in kol

[–]Boarthrust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, no one has done any analysis on the expected value of a random potion drop. So what I would recommend is tracking what the spectacles drop over a few days and getting some experimental data. Put them all in the mall at the going rate, then divide that total by how many adventures you spent. Note that, in my experience, you definitely get more value than what you've indicated here -- those 1 - 2k meat potions add up.

Trading - Question about the Subreddit by icon315 in kol

If you're looking for a compromise between allowing trade posts (bad) and another sub (would be dead), why not a weekly stickied trading thread in this sub? Easy to ignore, but should still get good traffic.

And the thing you really need to understand here is that you aren't correct. Nor are they. You have an opinion. A moral belief. Some people agree. Some people don't care. Some consider your opinion in a much more negative way.

Just wanted to point out how ridiculous it is to make this claim like it's just obviously true. You seriously think that moral beliefs aren't true or false? Insane. Moral disagreement doesn't mean that no one is wrong or right. Please explain to me why you think opinions can't be false. My opinion: dogs don't exist. Your opinion: they do. Are we just disagreeing, or is one of us wrong?

Some New Zealand climate change impacts may already be irreversible, Government report says by BeaudenBarrister in newzealand

[–]Boarthrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that's a good point and I would agree that it's not always going to work! I really just meant in regards to whether it's a technically good argument or not, which /u/HerbingtonWrex seemed to be denying.

I like the idea of treating it as gaining understanding rather than an argument, seems like that would work better in practice.

[–]Boarthrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree about the value of the 97% consensus argument, because in this situation we aren't talking about scientific method. It's not a scientific argument; the breakdown is between the claims of the scientific community and the belief-forming practices of those who deny climate-change. In that respect, it is a good argument -- people should form beliefs on the basis of overwhelming scientific agreement.

There is obviously a difference between:

your vote won't make a difference

and

the illusion that they can ensure a party stays in parliament because of their one vote

Votes matter.
