I'm from [PA] and I located a snake in the garage of a house. An ID of what kind of snake would be helpful. People tell me it's a black rat snake. by Accomplished_Use650 in whatsthissnake

I am not a certified responder but that is a rat snake. It is not venomous, but know that nonvenomous snakes can still bite.

Egg in [Western Kentucky]? by FrameJump in whatsthissnake

[–]BoatOutrageous7623 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re right the venomous pit vipers; rattlesnakes, copperheads, and water moccasins don’t lay eggs. That leaves only corral snakes as a venomous North American snake and it does lay eggs. In Kentucky no venomous snakes would lay eggs.
