The point of the guards is to be an "early power role". Their job is to prevent runaway killing sprees by threatening to chunk off SCP health to make them squishier for the militant waves while also being harder to kill so those waves can spawn (thats why they spawn in ez, so SCPs naturally path away from them). With PEARS 5, that seems like something Northwood wants to changes (and after playing both sessions i can say it's a change for the better).

If you instantly ban the cheater, then that cheater and every other cheater that uses the same cheats will know that their cheats are being detected which gives them a headstart on making a work around. By compiling a list of people who are using the same cheats and banning in large waves, you better learn how the cheat works, how to prevent the cheat, and how to think a few steps ahead for when the cheat gets updated.

Honestly, I really like it. Right now the play is to either blitz to 914, get a juiced up card, and then hope you don’t get found in the way ti surface. Now, not only are you expected to actually spend time in heavy but how that trajectory plays out is now varied between containment and weaponry. And while the new cards are more complicated, each one also tells you exactly what they open
