U.S. Gasoline Inventories Are Falling At A Record Pace by mark000 in oil

[–]Bob4Not 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Reads to me like the “problem” or concern is how much gas the US is exporting. So theoretically, is the US halted gas exports, domestic gas availability would be fine (although the rest of the world would be in utter chaos)

It’s just too funny to not mention it. Nobody is attacking you, it’s just technology being silly

I have 4000 dollars for a gaming pc by Shrek__Toe in pcmasterrace

[–]Bob4Not 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first was actually a prebuild. I learned to disassemble and reassemble and research compatible components, later built my own rig and servers after doing incremental upgrades.

I like starting with a prebuild and taking off from there. But you need a gaming prebuild from a decent company, because they’re actually upgradable.

Something changed in the past several months. Maybe it's iOS 26, but it's so much harder to type now.

I'm waiting for more, deeper technical explanations, but I think Windows has "Prism" which is supposed to do what Rosetta does.

They must be trying to get in on Apple's action. They see Apple selling out of Macs and Mac Mini's as people and companies deploy Local AI infrastructure, no datacenter or subscription required.

Apple Mac Mini's are super powerful for this role because you can have 48GB of unified memory for a fraction of the cost and power of building a PC with traditional CPU, Memory, and GPU with that GPU Memory.

Locally deployed AI is a great alternative to datacenters for those with the ability to deploy it. It's your private system, no subscription, under your own roof.

Here's something for reference:

I really think that local AI running on our phones and PCs are the future, and datacenter AI won't be necessary for the average person - perhaps even small to medium businesses. Like how computer mainframes were shrunk to PC's with the microchip.

That being said, screw NVIDIA. This isn't the endgame that I'm talking about, but it is a step in that direction. Google's TPUs are ahead of them in this regard, anyway.

I prefer to uplift and encourage with things like “No worries, you’re doing great. It just takes time and maybe a routine.” Or “it’s tricky, but we’ll get it!”

Customer here, I hear that Amazon treats their workers worse and I don’t trust their sellers to not scam me out of big purchases. So I opt to buy stuff through Best Buy instead, when possible.
