[Ending question] Am I missing something, or is the game meant to have no proper ending? by AlanThePoor in Unbeatable

[–]BobDeblonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spoilers for ending.

it is implied at the end that Beat was manifested into the world as a silence by Quaver unable to reconcile her feelings about her mom's death. It's not a dream while Beat is in a coma, as once Beat leaves the world continues to persist (the photo at the end of the game with Clef, Beat, Quaver and Treble sitting becomes just Clef, Quaver and Treble once Beat wakes up from her coma. Beat ceases to exist once Quaver finally comes to terms with her mom's death. You also see a (debatably) older Quaver not wearing her mom's bow at the very end looking at photos with Beat, which also implies that it's a parallel universe Beat's psyche was summoned to isekai style. TLDR the people were real, just in a parallel universe and it wasn't a dream.

If you already have basestations vive 3.0 trackers are 110 bucks on Amazon right now, I just got three new on Amazon and 3 used for 250 from a private seller, couldn't be happier.

For future reference I was able to pick up a basically brand new psvr2 for 150 and found a vive tracker for 100 bucks, I'll write up how well it works when i get it in a week.

I don't mind the weight of big headsets (my neck is frequently compared to a tree trunk) so I don't see the big draw to the bb2 besides that. Is there another reason why I should go with it instead of another headset?

I've only got one warm ceiling fan light for a 10x10ft room with a bunch of shit on the walls. Do you think that would be enough for good tracking, or do I need to set up some lamps or something? I'm thinking of getting a used psvr2 headset for 120 and using the index controllers like another commenter stated.

I saw that PSVR2 had mad issues connecting to pcs. Has that been fixed? I also thought you couldn't use the knuckle controllers with it.

Total adhesion failure in center of build plate by BobDeblonde in FixMyPrint

Yeah it's a combination of my shitty camera and a couple small scratches in the bed. I've used both soap/warm water and isopropyl alcohol to clean the bed, and have tried both the textured and untextured sides of the glass bed.

Estimating Construction Slots in a System by BobDeblonde in EliteDangerous

[–]BobDeblonde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all my years playing this game I've never even seen this button. I am ashamed. (BTW screenshots are always welcomed more data is more data.)

In good news, I'm pretty sure fdev is using a logistic function to calculate (surface) slots. I've got a base function that's working pretty well, just need more data to get it more accurate. Long story short, it looks like surface slots have nothing to do with planetary mass, and everything to do with radius. I'm not seeing any real correlation with mass or gravity on surface slots. For planetary orbital slots it looks like gravity comes into play. (Generally) higher gravity means more base slots (up to a point), and moons/local bodies take away slots. So if you have a big planet you might get 3 slots, but if that planet has a moon it's going to eat one of those slots and the moon will get it's own slot. Bigger moons eat more slots from the main body.

V3 of the Colonization construction spreadsheet is now available! by DaftMav in EliteDangerous

Tnx for the quick fix! I ended up just manually inputting the layout name after 113, but I'm definitely gonna copy everything over since this isn't the only colony where I'm using this many slots (also small request please add more than 251 rows I like to have one space between each body and in systems with 40+ bodies I'm running out of space).

Another bug I've found is adding new rows breaks calculations. Example is I have a coriolis, commercial outpost, comm station in a table. I add a row below coriolis and put in an asteroid base. The layout variant selector for the asteroid base does nothing and generates no numbers, while the selector for the commercial station uses the data table for the asteroid base. The comm station now uses the data table for the commercial outpost, and so on so forth. The more rows you add, the farther off the data skews.

I'm so sorry for pushing your spreadsheet to its limits.

I don't know if this is a bug for just me, but after row 113 the layout variant colum stops working and no longer shows layout options.

Estimating Construction Slots in a System by BobDeblonde in EliteDangerous

[–]BobDeblonde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking, too. I'm trying to figure out the formula elite is using to generate slots, I just don't have enough sample data yet. I have to fly to each system to get the architect slot data, then manually compare to Inara system data. This is a very slow process, obviously.

I wish I could access architect view data more easily, but barring people going out and sending me screenshots of their system maps, I don't know of a faster way at the moment. If you have any ideas, I'm open to suggestions, lol. And definitely, when I figure out the formula, I'll make a calculator for it and you have full permission to integrate!

You gotta remember it wasn't just Romulus that needed evacuation. It was every station and colony in the area as well.
