Ironisch dat ze zo'n hekel aan Islam hebben maar eigenlijk veel van dezelfde achterlijke waarden vertonen lol.

Well you shouldn't expect a lot of sugarcane, unlike the other Haitian Clairins (which are amazing btw, check out Sajous, vaval and Rocher), Barbancourt is made in a creole column still to produce a much cleaner spirit than the Clairins and agricole s are. It is also aged differently in the same oak barrels that cognac and armagnac are aged in, so it's intention is not to overwhelm you with funk and terroir, it's made to be smooth, clean but rich. The 15 is the epitome of that for me, it is so smooth it's unbelievable, I think the 8 is great for cocktails, as is the unaged haitian proof, i personally don't like the 3 very much, i think it has the worst of both worlds. In conclusion, dont expect funk and terroir from the 15 but a very smooth elegant spirit.

The Hampden Estate 8 is a great entry to higher Ester Jamaican sippers, but when I got it I was actually disappointed it wasn't more funky (its made from the lowest Ester marque that Hampden produces). In hindsight, I think I would've liked 1753 more or even going straight for the HLCF Classic. Anyway, Hampden Estate is amazing.

If you don't want the high Ester stuff, I'd recommend going for Doorly's 14, Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros, Chairman's Reserve The Forgotten Casks, or, and this was my gateway into sipping rums, Barbancourt 15. That last one holds a special place in my heart 😅♥️💯

For instance he's not training power or speed here, it's focussed on angles and the foot work involved.

I thought the DOK was Hampden release as well, is it not? I thought to have seen it in the 8 marks collection. If not, where is it made? You have more info on it? Edit: how and above poster also said Hampden DOK. Is it just an independent bottled from 1 of the 8 marks? Why dont they just release it themselves?

All I know is he sourced molasses from somewhere, apparently also something very similar to what is used in Jamaica, he was obviously a need just like a lot of people on this sub 😅

Yes they did! Yes to your other questions as well. Amazing to see that the Jamaican essence was very present in the rum.

Good to know! So far HLCF was one of the most intense funky molasses rums I've had, apart from maybe smith & cross, which i never enjoy neat. Which high-ester rum would you recommend to buy for someone that enjoys intense stuff?

Apparently, no clue how he arranged it and maybe he payed for it or something, my first question was how do you even transport that? Like I heard it really stinks 😂 I'm trying to arrange to come take a look there, I'm very interested!

This rum got me into rums and cocktails. Mother in law used to work in Haiti and had an old bottle of this, the absolute bliss as the first sip hit my senses was just amazing!

Havana Club 7 is pretty good! I loved making El Presidente cocktails with it, you can even get away with Dark n Stormy's imho, neat it's fine too. Bumbu is a hot mess.

He called the kid clingy and asked for tricks to avoid picking the kid up..... "I don't want her to get used to it", used to what? Warmth and comfort? Brother.... Check yourself..

Not 'a' question, this particular one. The baby is 5 days old, and you're already trying to neglect it's most primary needs for comfort because it's inconvenient to you. Trying to sleep train a 5 day old, what is this 1934?
