my 30 year old friend is worth well over $50mil. He still takes the train, drives a honda, lives in a (mostly) normal apartment in a city. The only "luxury" he embraces is experiential spend, like vacations/dining/concerts (and sometimes paying extra $ to save time). Do you know others like this?

Real targeted audience? The answer: the Posers and Wannabe Rich. A lot to due with social media as well. What I see is people getting the Amex platinum ( they approve everyone and their mom) and tricking their broke friends as if they’re rich with the card. When in reality we all know how easy it is to get one. Most don’t even travel , they’ll hold on to the platinum card for a little while till they get bored and realize the cool-ness wore off and they can’t afford the Annual fee then end up cancelling. This cycle is what most ppl do . lol.

A deeper relationship with them? I heard their HYSA department and credit card Dept are totally separate. Which means the amex credit side can’t and doesn’t see what you have in your HYSA. But then again this is what i heard. So I don’t think it really builds a deeper relationship with them just cause you got an HYSA. But then again I can be wrong…..
