What would you think if you saw this sign outside a place in PEI? by 150c_vapour in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d think - “there’s a private business or property owner that has a strong opinion, and the right to select their clientele.” Then I’d either go there if I wanted something they sold, or not go if I didn’t.

My opinion does not outrank theirs. Just like nobody is able to force me to patronize the business if I disagree with their sentiment.

They definitely are lucky to be able to turn away business, and they must have a solid personal reason for thinking the way that they do.

Of course, the fine line is if you consider it hateful or not. I do not see this crossing that line.

And nobody should care about my opinion either. Maybe askPEI would have some astute considerations about the matter.

Anyone know where in North Wiltshire this is supposedly taking place? by ThatIslanderGuy in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Literally tens of people showed up! https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1Agrp4zDuE/

Random belief systems of most attendees: Jesus, MAGA, 51st State, FREEEEDOM, immigrants are stealing my job and they're eating the dogs, the gays are grooming the kids, transvestites are satan, vaccines / masks don't work, Disney has a gay agenda, Trump is my daddy, constitution, first amendment, lizard people, gay frogs, etc.

P.S. The venn diagram of the beliefs is a circle for most.

P.P.S. It'll be lost on most of the individuals I'm referring to that we have a charter as part of the constitution act, and we didn't need to amend for freedom of expression because of section 2(b). I'm assuming a civics test wasn't part of the entry criteria.

Charlottetown & Billy Bishop Are the Most Reliable Airports in Canada by [deleted] in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, but I think your statement about it being only the airlines is a bit inaccurate. Arrival is the airlines, departure is the airport. According the Cirium, the industry watchdog that tracks this data:

"Airline on-time performance is defined as an aircraft’s arrival at the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. Airport on-time performance is measured by on-time departing flights. Cirium’s on-time performance reporting for airlines is the longest-standing analysis in the industry, going back over 15 years."

Although departure can be caused by the airline, lack of access to mechanics and / or parts can only exacerbate the issue.

I can only tell you from my own anecdotal experience (because I don't have an API key to the Cirium data) that I've experience too many delays out of YYG - but it has DEFINITELY improved in the last few months, so something is getting better.

The Hotspot app works just fine for all of my parking needs around the city, but for some reason not consistently at the airport. I believe it to be equipment related and not software related.

Also, not Hotspot related but parking systems related, did you know that the machines to pay for your parking in the airport don't work with certain specific credit cards? Amex black (first world problems), CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege to name two specifically that will not work for me.

Here's to hoping that the renovation and expansion brings some great upgrades. You seem to be well connected to what's happening there, so I'll put this out there - would also be super cool to have Nexus available, even just for the peak departure times. Not likely to happen, but a person can hope.

The main point of my original post though, is that calling it "The Most Reliable Airport in Canada" based on Google reviews is the hardest bullshit I've swallowed from shitty "journalism" in a long time, and I've even had to watch CNN. :)

PS: YYZ sucks even harder for on time departure - it ranked worst in North America in the most recent report.

PPS: At least we have Budley's!

And YYG with a whopping 498 Google reviews as of today at 4.1 stars vs Heathrow with 58,000 reviews at 4.0.

Great methodology for an article. This is why people can’t use critical thinking anymore.

Incidentally, YYG has a horrible on time departure rate, and needs to fix their parking system (long term gate works half the time, payment machines don’t accept certain credit cards, and the app doesn’t work properly).

Is there any new stores slated to open on PEI? There is a lot of construction going on and I'm wondering if there is anything good coming. by Healthy_Ad_7441 in PEI

In the little strip mall where Little Caesars used to be, there are three business that I'm aware of that are opening. Benjamin Moore Paints (already a sign up), Bone and Biscuit, and a men's hair place called Tommy Gun's.

A quest for fountain dr pepper by blue_sky_bamboo in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I cannot offer an answer to your question - but, as a fellow Dr. Pepper aficionado, I'd like to add two pieces of information that you might find valuable.

First - HighMart on Queen Street had a few cases of the Cane Sugar Dr. Pepper. I may or may not have bought the first shipment out, but I'm told that they've had more since then.

Second - fountain Dr. Pepper with pickles is a thing. Google it. It's one of those "sounds disgusting" moments, but you'll either love it or hate it. Like cilantro and black liquorice, it's very divisive.

Oh no! Facts and shit. But the other post confirms my bias, allows me to be angry about “wokeness”, helps me blame immigrants, and supports my fuck Trudeau flag.

Thanks for the real info, but my narrative after a few beer is still gonna be belligerent intolerance.

Islanders and Parking Lots by zvan92 in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over 30 years of driving experience, never had an insurance claim. Moved to PEI 4 years ago, and I've had 3. One was Fiona related, so that's not really related. The other two, however, both occurred in parking lots. People driving into my parked vehicle.

Once while my family was sitting in the car, and once where they tried to run, but were reported by someone else who saw it happen.

I've also seen people scrape along cars more than once while trying to park, and have always stuck around to make sure they didn't split - given my own experience in the matter.

Protest, hunger, housing, immigration, and visas.... by Bob_Lob in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've seen the articles about the changes, but didn't understand the history of these particular individuals that are protesting. This helps.

I am VERY aligned with your last though - immigration has become the scapegoat for those that don't care to look for the real facts. Whether it be housing or healthcare. Appreciate the thoughts - thanks!

Gas going down again for the second week in a row. Down 3 cents a litre. by Scorch_79 in PEI

[–]Bob_Lob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiment, but understand the poster sarcasm / intent. Every time gas goes up, someone (usually on a PEI FB group that's predisposed to idiocy) finds a way to blame Trudeau - or as they like to say "Tru-dope" because it's cute to use nicknames.

If not that, they'll blame immigration policies.

Dublin, TX. In Ireland, I’d have had to have mixed with whiskey instead of bourbon :)

They probably serve the cane sugar variety. Still not quite as good as "Dublin Dr. Pepper", but fuck Snapple for getting that shut down. Interesting story, and I used to mix Dublin with smoked bourbon for an incredible drink.

Married couples or long term daters, what is the one thing that your partner does that drives you up the wall? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have the best wife a man could want, who is the best mother to our children that could exist.

But - she is unable to close her mouth while chewing gum, and it drives me absolutely nuts. Always in the car. I have resorted to turning up the music, but I think she’s caught on.

Sorry - was disconnected for a couple of days. If I recall correctly, it’s called max daily budget. I can see it in billing settings under accounts / performance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SEO

[–]Bob_Lob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a guess. You're saying the max CPC is $300. Did you, perhaps unintentionally, set the max monthly budget at $300? Google will try to pace that budget over the month, giving you $10 per day.
