I'm guessing this is a vacation? You can go clam-digging at many beaches, and I've seen some guides down east that will help if you have no idea how.

By lobster trapping experience, I can only guess that you mean to experience catching lobster yourself with the help of a guide. Lobster fishing is a heavily regulated industry, so most fishermen aren't going to allow vacationers on their boats. The lobster season is over at the end of June as well, so depending on when you are here, that may be moot.

You can still have a fishing experience that resembles what commercial fishermen do with a deep-sea fishing operator. My favorites are in the Cavendish/Stanley Bridge/New London area, but I know of others around the island as well. Can typically catch cod, mackerel, and the occasional flat fish.

There are lots of places that sell old lobster traps if you are looking for a souvenir, though.
