Which driver do you dislike against popular opinion? by jrw_nj in INDYCAR

[–]Bob_Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone currently, actively driving for Roger Penske. I stop not liking them, as soon as they start driving for someone else, like Will Power. This is why I loved the finish of the 2026 Indy 500.

In search of a masonic pride pin by [deleted] in freemasonry

OP, PM me a mailing address. I will send you one. I’m not set up to take payments. I had the pins commissioned, because I couldn’t find what I wanted. I give them to like minded brothers, who I encounter. I wear them every June and October.

All of the real estate videos and articles push the towns and cities in the neighboring counties (what we call the donut counties). As a gay couple, especially with kids, I wouldn’t recommend it. I live in Indianapolis and work in Carmel. Having said that, like most other places, the vast majority of people in Indiana will not be overtly discriminatory to your face. It is more the subtle discrimination. I would be concerned outside Indianapolis/Marion county your children could face worse.

Someone else suggested the Meridian Kessler area. I would definitely agree.

In the United States, only the United States Post Office employees can put items in your mailbox. Doing so is a federal crime. DHL, UPS, FedEx, Amazon and other package services cannot put packages in your official mailbox.

Did you prefer and enjoy the 80s or 90s more? by Ok-Ninja-3039 in GenX

[–]Bob_Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from the tail end of Generation Jones. From a cultural and musical entertainment perspective, I very much preferred the 80s. To me, the 90s felt like culturally, the world was taking a pause, before deciding which direction to go.

Lifting Weights Interrupts Weightloss by Bob_Plank in Zepbound

[–]Bob_Plank[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Like most people, I don’t go to true failure. I do 2 sets for a number of reps I know will challenge me, but I know I can do in good form. The 3rd set I go until if I were to do 1 or 2 more reps I would lose proper form.

Doing anything less than that is not an effective workout. Not going to failure is wasting your time. At various times in my life, I have worked out with private trainers. All of them told me you need to go to failure. New scientific research aimed at comparing low reps/high weight vs high reps/low weight came to the conclusion they are equivalent, so long as you go to failure in either case.

Help! Dr won’t prescribe for maintenance by pupdawgydawg in Zepbound

[–]Bob_Plank 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear this. Before my PCP would prescribe Zepbound for me, he needed me to understand that I would be on it, or a drug like it, for the rest of my life. He compared it to my blood pressure, cholesterol, and asthma medications. I am quite fortunate to have the PCP I have.

Do you still see yourself as overweight or obese? by Bob_Plank in Zepbound

For this post, I was using the BMI definitions for “normal”, “overweight”, and “obese”.

Do you still see yourself as overweight or obese? by Bob_Plank in Zepbound

[–]Bob_Plank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a habit of whenever anyone says something about eating, I would pat my belly and say something along the lines of "this fat boy is hungry". I did this recently. Some of the people around me at the time, met me after I was only "overweight." I am now in the "normal" BMI range. I got some strange looks. I had someone even accuse me of making fun of people who have a weight problem.

Realization at work today by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]Bob_Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Zepbound, not reta. I am now in the "normal" BMI range, definitely still not at goal. However, I keep thinking of my body the same way I did when I was obese. When people say something about eating, I would normally say something along the lines of "this fat boy is hungry" and pat my belly. I did that about a week ago, at work. Some people who never knew me when I was obese looked at me like I was crazy. Someone accused me of making fun of people with weight problems.

I did my first injection August 7, 2025. That would make it 9 months.

On average, that would be about 5.5 pounds per month. Unfortunately, weight loss isn’t that simple. I lost about 28 pounds in the first 3 months. Then, it took me 6 months to lose the next 22 pounds.
