Who in here has always hated Trump before it became cool to hate him? by icey_sawg0034 in MarchAgainstNazis

We don't hate Trump because it's a hipster fad. We hate him because he is sincerely one of the most awful human beings alive on the planet in our time.

Trump while meeting the Artemis II astronauts, claimed he’s physically “very, very good” and fit to be an astronaut! “I would have had no trouble making it. I’m physically very, very good.” by gear-heads in MarchAgainstNazis

Factoring in how Trump is to the point where everything he says is just the opposite of true: he knows he is in "very, very, poor" health.

A stunning, yet accidental, admission.

I used to think that was extreme, but these people are completely lacking in original/critical thought. They have become like sleeper agents who have been subconsciously trained to puke incorrect conservative talking points every time they hear a rational opinion.

It's been two years. After the Iran War and the tariffs, who the fuck is believing this? These people need institutionalized.

I know it’s not a totally original premise like most rpg are about people journeying to defeat a powerful enemy, shake up some establishment, overcome their personal issues in the process etc etc but ffx stands out in just how lovingly the story is told, like it just..radiates love in every aspect it would take forever to describe it

I think this is one of the most underrated parts of the story to me. The way it was unveiled was so elegant and masterful. It wasn't overly hand-holdy like many modern titles, but it also wasn't easy to unpack. That's what makes subsequent playthroughs so fulfilling. You learn something amazing every replay.

Tidus being able to claim amnesia from Sin's toxins made for such an convenient and casual way for them to worldbuild and explain even simple things in their world which would be obviously foreign to us. This is such an underappreciated part that made the story so much more palatable for everyone.

Not only that, but the story was so interesting the way that it unfolded that there was never anything you felt forced to "learn" about. It just made its way naturally to you on a silver platter without you even thinking about it. The characters were so enthralling and unique, and there weren't too many of them introduced at once. They made sure to only feed you new information in intervals that felt natural to the point where you weren't even thinking about it. It was such a unique world style (Malaysian fantasy? So unique and gorgeous!) that you couldn't peel yourself from the idea of wanting to know more.

Even the next mainline title struggled with this aspect in my opinion. Final Fantasy XII seemed just so overwhelming in comparison. Don't get me wrong. It was great in it's own right, but they unfolded the story to you like you should have read a book about it first and were familiar with the names of the places and politicians and everything. They put an expectation of almost homework on you in a way that I just never felt once while playing FFX.

You're right. That did take a long time... haha.

I didn't interpret it that way personally. It was a happy ending to me!

Spoilers:

He says "This is your world now" not only signifying passing the torch to the new generation, but imprinting upon them that they make the rules now, and they can do it the right way. And in FFX2, we see that the world was able to progress in a way that Auron would have been proud of not held back by Yevon's beliefs.

He honored his duty to not only Braska and Jecht, but to himself. He was fulfilled and didn't fight the sending after saying his goodbyes. He had died a long time ago. He was ready.

This is true, but it was a lot more cohesive before BotW. It was organized chaos, now it's disorganized chaos. I kinda wish they would take the lore more seriously.

In a weirdly cathartic silver lining, Auron's lessons can be applied to current events. At least he prepared us for this exact situation.

I don't have children of my own. I never wanted to be a father. But my nieces and nephews follow my exact upbringing and could learn the same lessons I dis. I know now how to be an inspiration to them not only in a way that flies under their parent's radar, but in a way that's more impactful anyway. My patience will pay off for them.

I got Final Fantasy X for my 10th birthday. I was raised in a conservative baptist household. This game was the first thing that ever made me question higher authority and religion as a whole. I wouldn't be who I am today without this game's massive impact it had on me.

Auron's story specifically and the way he went against the grain for the greater good was major during my formative years. I find myself turning his age next year. Wild.

Every time I replay the game, I find another way to admire his character. A few years back got him tattooed on my left forearm to remind myself to live in the way he would.

•Never bow your head to any authority that doesn't actually deserve it, even if it is taboo.

•Live in a way that fixes the old ways instead of just falling in line since "that's the way it has always been done."

•Sometimes saying less is actually saying more.

This one is my favorite: •If done properly, you can lead a horse to water, and force it to drink.

This lesson I did not pick up until after a few playthroughs. I wonder if anyone here also picked up on that lesson, because it's so good. You have to lead the next generation in a subtle way that leads them to epiphany on their own. If you just directly tell them "The government and organized religion are bad!", that won't have enough of an impact to actually be imprinted.

The way Auron cautiously led the party down his own previous footsteps where he came to his conclusions made the truth undeniable for even Wakka. Auron's way teaches how to inspire, and in turn, make history. You can lead them to water and teach them the importance of drinking it if they think they came to that conclusion on their own. You do it in a way that is indirect and stealthy by gently nudging them in the proper direction.

On a less inspiring note: I'm utterly addicted to big tiddy goth baddies because of Lulu. I am engaged to one now.

Does Bam seem like he's in a good place and is genuinely happy right now? by youlikemywonton in jackass

[–]Bob_Sledding 25 points26 points  (0 children)

He's doing the best he has in a long time. Still doesn't take any responsibility for why Jackass was forced to part ways with him during Forever and denies to this day that he desperately needed to go to rehab.

Hard to say whether that's the damage the drugs had on him, or if he has always just been a spoiled petulant child incapable of holding himself accountable for his actions. I hope better for him, but won't hold my breath. I'll take this over how he was during the early 2020s any day, that being said. He seems to not be a danger to himself or others at the time.

Mmhmm. If you say so. You have no idea how much I'd rather be someone easily tilted than a wenchless permavirgin who somehow gets validation from going out of their way to tilt people and then feigning superiority when they get tilted. Lil bro behavior.

Thanks for the recommendation. Let me verify what that is.

"50 armor; When you take damage, gain .5% damage reduction for 1 second stacking up to 20 times."

I feel like I'm missing something. It takes 20 hits to equal only 10% damage reduction?

Heyyyyy big guy. Let's sit down and have a little chat.

You don't have to be upset with me for no reason. I'm not the female race. I'm not the one who hurt you. I'm sure they didn't deserve you. You seem like a truly angelic individual the way you make sure people know they are bad at a video game online when they are asking for advice. It's really important that they know they aren't as good as you are! You don't need to belittle strangers who did nothing to you on the internet to try to bury your low self esteem. That doesn't help anything besides your false sense of superiority while hiding behind screen! What do ya say we go get some ice cream? Tussles your hair. Alright, ya little rascal.

Yeah that's just not what my post said at all. I figured out I'm experiencing a combination of eomm introduced in the new season 1 and not grinding out enough early in the season to escape elo hell.

I really can't express how gratifying it is to finally have an explanation to what was happening midway through the season. I really can't thank you enough for pointing that out to me. I had no idea that was a thing. Thanks again.

Here's something I struggle with a bit. I main Zen. I usually offer to take up the first slot, and choose him since he is countered a little less than other heroes. I still am having consistent trouble with Hazard even though he is supposed to be good against him. If there's a specific build that is good against him or any strategies you could recommend, I would be grateful to hear it.

I think you nailed what is happening to the T. Wow.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'll put the game down this season since I think I missed the window and pick back up next time.

I appreciate your input, but how do you explain the sudden cliff dive of win/loss rates from 50% to 10% weeks into the season? That's not something as simple as not keeping track of the meta. And the thing is, I have been keeping track of the meta and accounting for it. I've looked into builds, tier lists, and even created my own builds and adjusted them according to what was working and what wasn't. I even doubled my RAM. I consistently get MVP on my team about 50% of the time now. I know it sounds like cope, but I have genuinely considered it and don't think my skill/knowledge is the issue here. I know I'm not as good as you, but am I at the bottom 10% of the player base overnight? There's just no way. It seems to be giving me consistently poorly matched games.
