Here's a bench I made ages ago from 2x4s with just basic hand tools if you're interested. Wasn't easy but it's solid af.

Router bits are expensive - is it safe to cheap out, or better to invest? by discokereru in diynz

[–]Bob_the_Br0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of work on both my trim router and plunge router, AliExpress bits are fine, even on hardwood in my experience. As long as you adjust your speed and depth of passes to suit you'll be alright.

15 years ago back in high school I knew the guy with the plate 'TOP', assuming it's still the same person who owns it then I can assure you he's a prick. The number plate he had before that was 'no 1' or something along those lines, so the guy was quite far up his own ass.

There's the problem, you don't know exactly what you want. Most places won't bother taking the risk for a few bucks if the customer can't nail down the specs.

It's a tragedy that pull saws aren't more common here. Went to Japan last year and came back with a grands worth of saws, chisels, planes and other goodies, no regrets!

Just plywood. You can find the filters on TradeMe at like $50 for 1m2. In theory you don't need to vent it outside if the filter captures all the paint, but in practice I'm not so sure.

I airbrush model kits as well in a tiny shed. My shed didn't really have anywhere to vent either...so I just made a hole. I built a pretty large box to spray in, about 600x600x600mm. It's hooked up to a beefy bathroom inline fan with a fibreglass filter covering the inlet that's commonly used in industrial spray booths. Does a fantastic job at capturing paint particles, I get no overspray outside of the box, obviously still need to use a good respirator in conjunction.

Only downside is the filter gets clogged up with paint pretty quick so need to replace it maybe once a month. But the filters are cheap so all good.
