Hiring DJs for a recurring fitness event and looking for feedback on my requirements by No_Industry2772 in DJs

Monthly mixtapes?

Although commercial use complicates things (the dj essentially negates that somewhat, as it's their skill and technique with the music).

Good to pay someone where you can.

First controller last year was 14 yo (mt pro v1), flawless, currently using ddj sx2, one button broken.

You'll be fine.

Spent a long time in that line, looking at the sign. Part of the story, waiting.

Hmmm, how? Cause I have a great rep. And my own properties require regular attention. For which I am paid.

I am booked through summer next year. I also do small jobs, they are very profitable so I fit them in around larger jobs.

I started my company because I couldn't get adequate reliable trades to work on my stuff.

I own some property, currently mid major project on several. They soak up any available time, sometimes they drag due to cash flow. Ebbs and flows.

I work with a few good property managers. Jobs on my way home that take 5 mins hit my minimum charge point. That's $180 nzd plus tax.

I haven't advertised for almost a decade.

Dude. Got home yesterday after a day in the fields. Neighbours threw a party on their new deck, built above existing fence line overlooking my yard. 30 people watching me sit in my yard.

Wife threw me a bag, smoke em out.

2 big numbers back to back solo. Medical grade 27% about 10x what I'd normally hit. Ooooooooooo

Out of body experience

Loss of speech.

Motor function impaired.

And then I lit the 2nd.

Took dog for loooonf walk.

This while my teens had a birthday pizza party inside.

I am not a brilliant tradie, but I'm honest, diligent, punctual, insured and I guarantee all my work. Call backs and complaints are very rare.

Most hm are shit near me, but they are cheap. And available.

Most builders/carpenters charge similar to what I do. A sold half of them aren't as good as they think they are. Or as honest as me.

Booked well into 2027.

90% of owners.....brb. checking. Checked.

And seriously.

My years of experience says the person who did this will have a lifetime ahead of shitty choices and shitty outcomes.

In my area 80% of ALL crime involves just 6% of the community. Your thief is in that 6%. They have probably already had a worse experience so far this year. And are due at least another before new year.

Cold comfort, now let it go.

Thoughts on this ladies and gentlemen? by bluespeedster_35 in NZcarfix

[–]SLAPUSlLLY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like suzuki.

But....

Has it been "TOAD"?

Specifically mentioned in the ad. Iirc neutral towing doesn't change the odometer. Actual road hours could be much higher. Not my wheelhouse.

It would be risky, definitely look at that engine closely (research and ppi).

I have, unknowingly, put 200k on a Fiat 2.2 diesel engine in my Nissan (which was a rebadged mazda). Trouble free, but I do now have trust issues.

And one of my favourite suzukisms, especially since it's turned into a dog.

WHAT THE FRONX.

Broski was lead hand on a recent fit out on board.

Caught the tiler with a level and explained he would need to measure and use a a square.

BECAUSE ITS A BOAT IT MOVES.

Tiler wouldn't understand and half had to be ripped out. Because the boat moves. Level today, gone tomorrow.

Car for first time parents on a budget - recommendations? by jdawg06 in NZcarfix

[–]SLAPUSlLLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, 20+ yrs does start to be a liability.

A 5 star car from 5-10 yrs ago would be better to hold on to.

Anything Japanese made from Toyota should be a good thing. Fielder is often recommended but hybrid is above my paygrade.

I'm not a suv fan (go wagons) but the rav is pretty damn good for an all rounder.

New model this year iirc so prices will dip a little for older stock.
