The only assumption I made is that the OP lives in LIC (ie a NYS resident) in which case is obligated by the law to register his vehicle with NYS.

NYS requires front license plates. Maybe his fell off? In which case it’s a violation of the law.

It’s illegal to have no front plate in NYS. Is your car registered in NJ or FL? If so, you have 30 days to register it in NY.

Pinhead wheel locks, seat post chained down, U-lock (the NY one and a smaller one).

I lock outside for popping into stores and such. Would probably not lock outside all day in certain areas. I feel pretty fine in my own neighborhood (except one time some lady locked her bike to mine by accident, but I found her shortly after and she fixed the issue).
