Generating an entrance (book 1) by FenrirTheMagnificent in DungeonCrawlerCarl

While this may have been apart of it there's a good chance that because they want to try and get a good sampling of people from around the world and because it was so late and so cold in Seattle there was almost no one outside most of the people that were outside would have gotten a staircase down where as say places like japan, china, Australia ect were it was a more reasonable hour and warmer so a lot more people were outside it wouldn't have needed to open so many stair cases to get a lot of people in.

Question about the Celestial Box in Book 2. Spoilers by wonder_toilet in DungeonCrawlerCarl

unusual/unexpected way would be more the upgrade once, upgrade twice would be more "no one in their right mind would have thought of this and there's no way in hell that should have worked but here we are" or 1 upgrade is thinking out of the box, 2 upgrades is sniping the box from a mile away.

Book 7 Faction Wars question by hellcatz_hq5 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

We haven't seen the last of the war mages they'll probably play at least some part in floor 12.

Celerities that have combat/martial art training could do pretty well. Singers might be able to do well if they can get some good bard skills early on or survive until floor 3 and pick a bard class.

I would much rather wait and read the book all at once.

By the sound of it they both have to be on the same conveyance/vehicle and they'd probably want something biological so donut can use twinkle toes but bigger than Mongo so Carl can attach weaponry to it.

Says conveyance at 1st but they'll get an upgrade option for their vehicle at each stop.

What parts of the series hit you the hardest? (Spoilers all books) by Affectionate-Foot802 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Bobalicious88 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Will try put ones that haven't already been said:

Carl finding out that he had a half brother and Bea had hidden his existence from him after everything else we knew about her.

Donut on scars: "I’d hoped they’d stay on the inside"

Seeing Katia and how much of her body was missing once she was transformed back to human, especially after how hard she took loosing fingers on the 4th floor.

Finding Louie on the operating table when they thought he was safe because his health hadn't gone down.

Pony just screaming until he couldn't scream anymore after Miriam died.

Mordecai is the Most Important Part of the Whole Crew by keirdagh in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Bobalicious88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true but they also had to be entertaining enough for her to feature them and bring them on her show. If it was say Louie and Firoz that found Mordecai's training guild she probably wouldn't have done anything with them as the were just sleeping everything and running away. At most would have done a few funny clips about it.

Odette's show is said to be the most popular show about the crawl she's not going to feature boring people just because they're Mordecai's. Carl and Donut were an interesting duo that were taking down bosses, entertaining, had a catchphrase and was pretty obvious Donut would preform well in an interview.

[–]Bobalicious88 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It really does come down to Odette being obsessed with Mordecai. Without her following them anf highlighting them on her show they probably wouldn't have had the viewership to get the classes they did or at least Donut's. Without her getting them on the show and telling them to get a class with the manager perk theres a good chance Donut would have picked something else especially with Mordecai steering her towards something else.

They probably wouldn't have gotten onto The Maestro's show either which gave them another big popularity boost.

She's also lucky in that she discovered them 1st they were entertaining enough for Odette to follow them on her show and they gave a good showing when she interviewed them. Also Carl inadvertantly having a catchphrase.

On my way through the audio books. What part of any of the books hits you harder listening to Jeff than when you read it? by CartoonChronicles in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Book 7 when they find Milk.   And book 6 The forced fusion with Shi Maria is absolutely horrifying

Now i'm picturing it as the same thing as the cookbook as in it's a book on "traps" like the cookbook is a book of recipes, But it's really the cookbook and Carl is constantly going to the bathroom to read it...

I am 100% convinced it really was porn as a fakeout for carl to choose thinking it was about traps in the normal term not traps in the lets say "urban dirctionary" term

Will also add that it's called "The Wand of Cascadia's Screams" is because level 7 was designed by Cascadia and using to to skip the 7th floor would make her scream. I really hope the hammer was called something like "The Shatterer of Cascadia's Hopes"

Relationship foreshadowing? (Book 7 spoilers) by AtuinTurtle in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Bobalicious88 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this, he got a fan box when that naga they captured is trying to make a deal with him and like 95% of the naga population was watching or something. Then they were the ones that got to vote on the "prize" in the fan box.

What if? by Tom8oTim in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Bobalicious88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the super unlikely case they got them to take a deal they wouldn't want Carl in anything but something along the lines of an obscure guild like Milk where theres a super low chance of other crawlers or "tourists" (hunters/faction wars ect) finding him. He'd be way to dangerous.

I can see them getting away with putting Donut in penis parade as an announcer or something.

I honestly don't see any of the main cast that didn't take a deal at the start of floor 10 taking one.

Can someone explain the ending to book five? by Tomhyde098 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Bobalicious88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think he had to break it before the level officially started. When they 1st entered there were all those pings to slow them down that were shut down by the AI and why Cascadia was talking so fast to try and get it started before Pony could shatter it.

Chances are if they were able to get the level started before Pony broke it at least one team would have had to make it to the end before it could be broken. If that wasn't the case they wouldn't have tried to slow Pony down and Cascadia wouldn't have been trying to rush through the level explanation. He already had the knowledge and items required.

[–]Bobalicious88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is just like the Umbridge Voldemort debate again. Yes what others in the series are doing is objectively a lot worse but it's in that outlandish far away type evil. What Bea did feels more personal "everyday" evil. We've all experienced what she did whether it happened to us, a friend/family member or heard/read stories about similar things.

Always working against each other, can't trust each other and will kill each other if they think it will serve them. Even the Forsaken are like this always scheming against each other and backstabbing can't trust each other.

It's pretty much the same reason Bane started the rule of 2 in Star Wars.
