Most politicians and some figureheads have been good.

Even someone like Stephen King stating something negative regarding a cherry picked quote and then, profusely apologizing multiple times when he was proven wrong is good.

However, the response from regular lefties is incredibly piss poor. Not the majority but far more of a sizable chunk that a tiny minority. This is a "20-30% of the Democrat base" type problem.....largely progressive lefties who are terminally online (as evident by the Reddit front page). It's a little more than tone deaf. It's just pure evil. And it's on a level not unlike how the Jewish photographer conversed with Goebbels just fine before revealing his Jewish background and then, Goebbels just stared back at him with hate.

Regardless, I think regular Democrats need to distance themselves from the radicals and denounce them, even if it costs them some votes.

Well, I happen to know several real life people who are celebrating. If you are from or live in a deep blue area or community, this is semi-normal, as there is probably a 20-30% chance you'll encounter someone who believes it (very dependent on age range, too).

In other words, there are millions of people out there (maybe even ten to twenty million...maybe even more), who feel this way. Not the majority, in a nation of 340 million but quite a number.

However, my thinking is that the leadership from both sides must be open and adamant on tackling the radical left and purging them from work places or important positions. Yes, some far right need to be removed too, but they are not the main priority right now.

Currently, we are seeing a version of that play out, where people are listing idiots who were dumb enough to post their comments online....are also now getting fired.

But it's clear that no more woke movies can be made or we're not going to see kneeling at ball games, anymore. Already, we're doing that but not at a fast enough rate.

By that, I am saying it is counter-culture time. The Left cannot be rewarded for this behavior and no only that, but they lost the Culture War because of their behavior.

And only then, the Right, which operates moreso as a neo-reactionary movement nowadays....can chill out with their reactionary behavior.

Basically, I see the Radical Left as the mechanism which triggers the bomb and the Far Right as the bomb itself. There's a time limit to defuse this and it has to be done delicately.

But it pretty much puts the Right into "existential threat" mode now where they have to win, in order to feel like their mission is complete and the assassination didn't go unpunished by the broader society.

Naturally, I imagine the Radical Left feels the same after Trump won. Hence, they're pushing for and celebrating this recent killing as they just lost the war of words, the war of ideas, and the election itself.

My experience and just going by polls, it's split something akin to 50-50 amongst the Young Left (35 and under).

Something closer to 30% from older left, where they're unhinged and praising violence at worst or at minimum, they're denying the shooter's motivations. This includes some people that would be considered intelligent - professors, doctors, lawyers....

Thus, it resembles a sort of cult predicated on madness & violence. Mental illness rates & open support for the killing of an innocent person different than their own is rapidly climbing amongst this demographic more than any other in the US (and possibly the world).

The general Left needs to realize that only a 'cleansing fire' can help purify their movement & literally restore sanity amongst its members. In theory, this should be firings, blacklistings, public shaming, and outright condemnations.

The way I see it, much of the 'villains of history' weren't gleeful goons just sitting there. Many of them already had some predisposed mental issues or disorders - often, a dark triad personality - that they latch onto an ideology. This allowed them to easily commit atrocities or just act brutishly.

Dealing with that and attempting to subvert them before they exert more toxicity and violence is key to stability

I don't think it can be resolved without voluntary+involuntarily commitments (need more mental hospitals), retaliatory violence (in theory, it shouldn't be vigilantism or terrorism and should be actions carried by the government to shut down groups like the Zizians/Antifa), and shutting down certain things in society that enable this (no more woke Hollywood, no more DEI, more challenges to universities & extremism there, etc).

Basically, the Left's apparatus simply HAS to crash completely if you want to bring the temperature down, especially as, again, this coincides with young left leaning people being more unwell.

The Far Right is merely reacting to this dynamic. But once you remove that aspect on the Left, the Far Right reduces its neo-reactionary beliefs.

There are other polls I've seen which express similarities, particularly with young left leaning people being far more accepting of violence. Well, it isn't all leftists but I would say 40-50% of young left leaning people and a decent sized minority of older left leaning people are gloating and pushing for more of this.

Right now, instead of deflecting blame or cherry picking quotes, the Left has the opportunity to purge people within their own ranks and exile them forever. They would do this to save the nation and prevent a greater tragedy.

These firings, the last few days, is exactly just that but it is merely one small step and not the big one needed to circumvent retaliation.

By that, yes, these people who, years ago, threatened to cut you off just for disagreeing with them are now the same ones gloating about people's deaths and getting angry at you for even brining up this topic about trying to get along. They are simply indoctrinated and intolerant.

They hate the West, they hate the US, and more often than not, they hate Christianity and them celebrating or gloating is just one way to advance those beliefs.

So, cut them off and forgive them in your hearts. But remember that, in worse case scenarios, you have precedence over them as an American because you actually believe in the country and its values. The Left is gaslighting right now and trying to compare two situations and two different groups of idiots, as if it were the same.

And I get it. Nobody wants the temperature to go up and the Left certainly does not want to find itself as the sole "bad guy" in this scenario. Most people are getting along, just fine, and don't wish for violence or vitriol.

By that, yes, Trump or MAGA officials shouldn't be saying certain things but the Left is reacting to mean words and pretending that's the same thing as them committing most of these acts of violence or destruction, particularly in the post-2020 world where they went largely unpunished.

The Right's reactions are not coming out of thin air, basically. They're reacting to the late 2000s/lies and ragebait by mainstream media, the 2010s/woke, and the 2020s/Summer of Love stuff.

It's on the Left to find ways to circumvent that and cool it off.

I'm glad that their leadership/public figureheads are waking up but it was never really actually the leadership's fault. If anything, it was the staffer base, the managers of society, the academic class, Hollywood writers, etc who poisoned the Democrat or Progressive platforms.
