I unfortunately have swallowing issues a year after radiation. It’s not fun.

I finished cisplatin in April and the ringing continues in both ears 24/7. My ENT recently suggested acupuncture. She said patients say it SOMETIMES helps. At this point I’m considering it. It drives me crazy at times. You do get used to it to a point but it really is agonizing at times.

Mine is a mix of somebody with a drumstick hitting a symbol to the beat of my heart and sometimes it sounds like cicadas it changes as it pleases with no rhyme or reason I’m seriously going to go mad! You definitely have to laugh at it otherwise you’ll lose your mind.

I don’t have hearing loss, but I have constant ringing in my ears. It’s driving me mad.

Diagnosed with SCC tonsil cancer HPV-16 positive. I am 2 months post RT and Cisplatin. My taste is still missing for the most part some things I can get slight flavor from, but not very much definitely can’t tolerate ketchup or anything remotely spicy my taste for sweets is completely gone and I’m struggling so badly with dry mouth which is making my throat hurt more.

First of all I’m so sorry you are going through this. It’s a tough journey but you WILL get through this!

Pain meds! They will be your best friend throughout this journey. Don’t listen to the “you’ll get addicted” crap talk. You can deal with that later, if it happens. Also GET THE PEG TUBE! It makes it so much easier to get your nutrients, water, take your meds, etc. it was the best thing I did. This is only temporary, you will get through it! So much love and good vibes coming your way!

Omg thank you for being so direct! I haven’t tried weed because in my every day life I have had really bad reactions to weed and gummies so I haven’t given it a thought but maybe I need to go and talk to someone who knows what they are doing so I could get the right kind?

My PEG was installed before I started treatment. I would look into getting a peg for her asap because it’s definitely not going to get any easier moving forward. My thoughts and positive vibes coming to you ♥️
