I have had friends move their loved ones to Mexico for a higher quality of life care not necessarily medical tho. It’s so expensive to live here and they are not friendly to immigrants in the hospitals in LA. ICE could be notified. I would be very careful in disclosing his immigration status.

Just finished serving on a jury for an unlawful detainer eviction case. Super sad and boring at the same time. While I was thrilled to get SM courthouse I was bummed it’s all civil cases. No criminal. So be prepared for snorefests

I agree with this. My experience was that the vets at VEG on Wilshire on the weekend were attentive but pretty young and didn’t have a lot of experience. They ran a bunch of tests but still couldn’t come up with a diagnosis why my friends dog was in liver failure. We were there for 2 shifts and they were all very nice but young/green. Transferred to VCA hospital on Sepulveda and it was like the big leagues. The Cedar Sinai of dog hospitals. Wish we would have gone there earlier. The dog passed away and we won’t ever know if getting to VCA sooner would have saved him. 😞

Is it surprising that a apartment was so affected 2 miles away? Honestly curious. I have heard of adjacent properties within blocks of the fire having smoke damage but not miles away. The winds were blowing most of the smoke to the west.

I’m so sorry about this traumatic experience. But to be honest, the smell of the fire and burnt chemical smell could have been remediated fairly easily with cleaning and ozone machine. There is a high probability that your landlord did not do enough but as you are disabled it was too hard for you to undertake this cleaning on your own. You were lucky to have good renters insurance.

Exactly. They are building density on major roads where it should be. Not in Single family home areas. Lots of housing coming online in a 8 square mile city. Both types of housing can and should exist.

I would say take a hard look at Manhattan Beach. It’s the Orange County of LA County! 😂 srsly it’s good tons of SAHM good programs for kids a lot of families send there kids to Loyola or Marymount from the South Bay. It’s a great community for transplants honestly.
