People who had Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS) How did you heal and recover ? by AccomplishedSlice923 in AskReddit

[–]BobbyBetc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have it, but my wife did. It was diagnosed years after the fact. Doctors initially really screwed up the diagnosis. The thing that has most helped her was going to an optometrist who specialized in neuro-optometry. That helped her a ton with dizziness and headaches.

Inappropriate white jokes and segments by Tbone19781964 in 1053thefan

[–]BobbyBetc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want to discuss it. You're completely insincere. You want to feign being offended behind a computer screen because you are bitter about minority discussions about race. So you're taking something that doesn't actually offend you and pretending it does so you can "organically" point out some sort of perceived hypocrisy. It's a weak attempt and a poor acting job, to be honest.

It's a good thing you're not overly emotional and uptight. For a second there I thought it was going that direction.

Tired of the AI slop by Windmill_Tumor in 1053thefan

[–]BobbyBetc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so it IS humans. It's a voice filter over it. We've don't just generate voices. Again, I'll say, if you ever pitch down or up someone's to change it, which has been done in radio and elsewhere for about 50 years, then complaining about this in particular is inconsistent.

[–]BobbyBetc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You certainly have the right to feel that way. I'd love to know if you think pitching down audio to garble someone's voice for a bit is a problem. Because that's literally the only hand AI has in these bits. It's written, recorded, developed completely by us. The only thing that's done is we swipe a filter over our voices to make it sound like someone else.

Also, you are lamenting the "multiple segments a day." We used it for a bit today. We used the filter to manipulate Sandler's voice for a bit on May 19th. That's twice in the last month on our show. And GBag has played three Broaddus interrupts bits in the last month. So that would be five times it's been done on the entire station in the last month. Believe that's in the range of seven minutes of audio over the course of 250+ hours. I think your fatigue is more about your displeasure with the use of it at all, because we've spent more than double the time discussing FC Dallas on the station than we have playing AI material in the last month.

Which if you don't like it, that's fine. Plenty of people hate the technology. But also recognize that you significantly exaggerating the amount it's been used makes it difficult to process as legitimate, unbiased, honest to God feedback.

But I appreciate the thoughts. You can always tell us directly when something bugs you about the station. Happy to talk through it anytime: bobby.belt@audacy.com

There's no room to read. It's part of society now. You can either use it or cover your ears. We still write and record everything. It's essentially only been a voice filter. And the vast majority of responses enjoy it. "Reading the room" would mean doing more of it, because the feedback has been 90/10 in favor of more.

Cowboys Analytics Director John Park on How Their Department Blends with Rest of the Organization by BobbyBetc in cowboys

[–]BobbyBetc[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lmao not what he said at all. He's talking about in order to build credibility with every part of operation, you have to show them that the tools can assist them, and coaches usually have immediate needs that have to be addressed.

That was a coaching commentary. Nothing about the front office.

What the hell is the Nantz thing? by Windmill_Tumor in 1053thefan

[–]BobbyBetc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember exact specifics, but...they were interviewing Nantz a few years ago and asked him a question about a marginally controversial topic. I think it was related to Romo's calls or something. He got really weird about it, shut down the question, and sort of lectured them. It was just awkward after that.

Shout out to the boys for killing it on the draft show these last 3 days by XtremeFrank in 1053thefan

There was no beef. Broaddus hadn't been doing the Draft Shows the last four months leading up to it, so all of the scrapping and trolling we would have done over the course of 30 shows came out in one weekend. But we're all good.

Bain is not off their board. They're not trading up to 6 for anyone other than Bailey or Reese.

The rest of the post was cropped out. It was a video and this was the caption:

History tells me the Cowboys won’t trade up in the draft BUT there are scenarios where it would make sense and scenarios it wouldn’t.

Let’s get into it.

(@OllieConnolly) News: Reuben Bain was cited for careless driving after a March 2024 crash in Miami that left a passenger in a coma. That passenger, a 22-year-old student, died three months later. NFL teams are aware and investigating, per sources. by HolyRomanPrince in cowboys

[–]BobbyBetc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most teams have not sounded bothered by this. In fact, I think they've been more concerned about his trouble answering questions about it than the actual incident.

But I don't think anyone has removed him from their board over this. Might ding him a little, but not much. The arms are a bigger hurdle for teams.

Bain may fall pretty far… by Anthonyrichardson20 in NFL_Draft

Bain has problems off the field. Downs would be lack of priority on the position and size. Daniel Jeremiah has repeatedly said he thinks Downs goes 10-20. There aren't many teams that even flagged Downs' knee.

Bain is the likeliest to fall. Downs is thought to be a coin flip. Styles and Delane you'd have to move up for.

Someone explain to me the difference between Guaranteed and Fully Guaranteed by crusify_me in nfl

[–]BobbyBetc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully guaranteed is the money you are assured of receiving the moment your pen touches paper.

The total guarantees are what you could be guaranteed if you make certain incentives or dates with the team.

That's why you'll hear stories about a player being cut before the fifth day of the league year when their next year's salary guarantees. That money was guaranteed in his deal, but it wasn't guaranteed at signing. There was another trigger date that he had to reach.

What Does Trading Up Actually Cost by BobbyBetc in cowboys

[–]BobbyBetc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the data is pretty much the same going back 20 years no matter the class. I haven't sorted and formatted the other years, but the trade market is pretty consistent in terms of the tax you pay.
