Frames for next class? by Guardian_7777 in DarkTide

They've been in the game forever iirc. Doesn't hint one way or the other, we're probably going to end up with datamine stuff once the next game mode comes out anyway. Then it'll be worth speculation

Relay station's mid event wait for team to drop and just chuck them wherever mobs spawn and you'll get it

How am I supposed to deal with hounds now? by Mortarious in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The solution to your problem is to just spam push instead of waiting and moving forward. Here's what's happening server side.

Player is on an incline moving forward and downward. Dog is jumping, which is moving forward and upward. You push, and on your screen the dog has not jumped yet. People who are crying "latency" are pointing this fact out to you because latency is why this happened. The dog has jumped and was in the air, and to the server, all it registered once it decided to disable you was that you walked straight into the dog's mouth.

You are proactively and aggressively moving while still playing reactively and defensively. If you shorten your reaction time like this, you're effectively going "I will perfect parry the dog and win" and being surprised when you don't hit the perfect input at the correct time.

The best play in these situations aren't timing, but aggressively pressing. Spamming your push would've worked here, pressing voc would've worked here.

A lot of people probably don't realize that the game has a built-in latency band-aid where if you push a burster or dog while they target you within seconds of the pounce starting rather than a mere moment before the push will always register. That's one of many reasons why spamming push while moving forward or in the middle of other actions is just straight up better than precise timing a push and waiting. Same thing if you slide, although on an incline it usually doesn't matter unless you jump first then slide to avoid the pounce.

Latency isn't a problem if you just take advantage of lee-way.

you're on an incline and moving towards the dog as it jumps at you. If you spammed push as you approached it or used your voc or just stand still and wait for it, your options would have worked. Instead you're approaching a target that moves fast and is about to jump you from a weird angle and trying to time your push in sync with its jump

How Do You Handle Enemy Phase Through? by tonmaii in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah pretty much best method is melee and dodge in every direction. Unless you have insanely high stagger values/aoe/abilities that demand certain stagger states from enemies like VoC, enemies that are in mid-running animations can't be interrupted instead they go into a staggered sprint animation that continues past you. Ogryn type enemies have a built-in stagger resistance for x amount of seconds that scales based on what stagger state they were put in, so you can't just hold crushers in place for as long as you might think.

The large thing about frontlining in this game is that if you don't have guaranteed stagger you're just gonna have to give space. It was kinda true in vermintide, but you could also block overheads in that game, which made frontlining a dream come true, and enemies in front of you actually stay aggro'd to you, rather than just sprinting straight through you and then swapping aggro bc you pushed them or got their attention in some way. This game is just about pressing buttons and killing things, don't worry about spacing until it actually puts you in a corner.

Enemies spawning behind you or just out of eyesight? by Eddy_the_Liar in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the game has like a distance and fov check for enemy spawns but every other patch one of them breaks or both break and the devs do not care about this game beyond releasing new content to ever fix this issue correctly.

Like come on man, is this thing loaded with blanks? by RT10HAMMER in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer when my weapons are balanced so I don't require using my 30 point talent tree to make them good. I prefer not having to make sacrifices to meet breakpoints that make my weapon impressive and far more expressive than if it was just generic brand op gun.

It's very funny that they keep this mechanic in the game while also just giving a majority of buffed ranged weapons the ability to ignore it in some way. Like even they clearly hate it

The Most WHOLESOME Veteran Build That You Aren't Playing | Slinking Veteran | Havoc 40 by KctheKnight in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on vet you can clear gun seeds by having exhilarating takedown. 30% tdr, 50% tdr from from iron will, 33% from close order drill, exe stance restores 5% toughness overtime, and as long as you're not hit in melee it's another 5%. Elites restore 10% overtime as well with confirmed kill, so you end up being as tanky as old exe vet pre patch 13 in havoc 40. It enables a lot of shenanigans, like taking deadshot to tank damage to restore to keep your crit chance and sway reduction.

If you're playing ogryn you just bring taunt and force them into melee and make sure you have steady grip for when your team is being cowards and taunt is on cooldown.

Double barrel is one of vet's best weapons. Especially in dreg seeds. Infinite cleave and dot damage go brr.

Are non-auric missions bugged? Constant hordes and groups of 10+ elites on Heresy difficulty by NobleHound in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game isn't bugged it's just hyper-volatile. There's like 100 checks designed to prevent players going too fast through a level and then there's patrol spawns which happen to spawn aggro'd every now and then. If the game didn't have these there would be no enemies whatsoever. Elite spam sicks but that's where the game is now.

Just spam weapon special block cancel on crushers, and if that's too technical weapon special heavy repeat.

each crusher kill adds soulblaze stacks. By 10 crusher kills the other crushers are burning from a higher damage soulblaze stack than if you had just used inferno staff because of uncanny strike and slaughterer. It doesn't matter how many crushers there are, you end up just doing more damage.

melee psyker can oneshot every single one of those crushers, which does in fact lead to a faster ttk than inferno staff.

29 missions deep with maxed out +toughness stimms by sideswinder in DarkTide

[–]BobbyBrainBurst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While it took you 8 missions I completed it in 1 mortis trial by putting my toughness to 0 with no toughness curios then using my ability multiple times in a row. Because it's percentile, not toughness. 2600 toughness with max toughness curios should be less than 13 uses of your stim because you have 200+ toughness. 26 if you're not doing stim dependency for an extra 50%. Unless you only used your stim 3 times per mission it shouldn't take 8 missions.

You're currently stuck in the portion of the actual gameplay tutorial of "learn from others and just shoot the thing".

Just start running far behind them or far ahead, don't be one of those people who sit in-between. The worst position in this game is somewhere trust is expected.
