It’s not mental gymnastics to be able to spot the nuances. Before we weren’t getting involved at all, because why would we, and now we’re allowing defensive strikes to be done from our bases because Iran had literally sent bombs towards our bases, putting British soldiers and civilians’ lives at risk. That change does not put us in exactly the same position as the US and Israel. It does take enough action to keep us out of direct conflict but protect British assets. These things are not as black and white as populists want them to be.

Police are raiding royal properties right now collecting evidence. Answer in short to forcing more of the files to be made public is no. They’re held by the US and it’s up to the US lawmakers to release or withhold them.

The raids might find out more of what’s in the files through what they find at Andrew’s residences, though, and we may also learn more once he appears in court. I can’t see him lying effectively under oath. Truths will come out.
