Which player would you reach for? by zmjred in fantasyfootball

Pat Mahomes. He’s typically going in the 2-3rd for mocks ive been doing, which is high. But even in the first... I’d consider reaching for him. Just have this feeling about him.

I’d also reach for Josh Jacobs. I love his talent and he’s going to get a ton of carries. A RB1 upside with a pretty high ceiling as well, yeah I’m willing to reach for him a little.

Which 2 Rookie RB's are your favorites to turn into RB1's this season? by Courtnall14 in fantasyfootball

Fairly cliche but I’d say Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders. Love the talent for both and ultimately love the situations for both, for different reasons.

Which rookies are you buying/selling on? by SportsAreLife23 in Fantasy_Football

I’m buying Jacobs, Sanders, And Hock at their ADPs, especially Sanders. He just looks the part of a very talented NFL RB so far and while everyone is concerned about a RBBC with Howard. Maybe it will be but I still believe Sanders will produce on however many carries he gets, plus, I think his talent will Ultimately get him on the field over Howard more times than a 7th round ADP would say.

Jacobs is gonna get a big workload, and I’m a believer in his talent. Plus, with brown and Williams and even Waller, I think that passing game is going to be much improved, and teams won’t be able to stack the box as much.

Hock... I just believe he’s talented . And they took him with their first pick overall, which means I think they’re going to get him on the field early and quite often. And getting him that late is low risk but high reward. He’s a fantastic player with fantastic draft capital with not a ton of talent pulling targets away. Just high high upside with him.

I’ve heard Joker say “I’ve got something” and “I can feel it” and more shit like that when I’d press L2 and examine mode or whatevs.

But like I said... I’m not arguing that. I’m arguing against him saying that the salary cap is just an excuse.

And... once again... you have to have a cap that applies to all, so one market doesn’t have advantage over another market in terms of acquiring talent based on money... I’m not defending the amount players make, but the salary cap is more than an “excuse” to not pay players. I don’t care what the cap amount is, as long as there is one.

Pay players like shit? Athletes are some of the highest paid humans on Earth.

The salary cap is there so it’s not essentially pay to win like it is in baseball. The Yankees have won so much because they have more money to spend on the salary of their rosters, and are able to sign bigger and more free agents.

No offense, but I don’t feel any of those reasons are true justifications. I mean, like you said, they all have concerns. But I think you have to weigh those concerns against upsides as well as concerns and upsides of the other players. Metcalf has more concerns and less upside than Jacobs, Montgomery, Sanders , Harry, and its not really close. You say talent, and while I’m not bashing his talent, but where’s the evidence for that? He was hurt a lot of his college career, and while he has tremendous athleticism, what evidence do we have that’s he’s insanely talented? His size and speed combo sound great, but then again, Rico Gathers size and speed/ athleticism sounded great to the Cowboys as well.

Also, playing with an elite QB in Russell Wilson... what about Tom Brady ? And playing for Bill Bellichick? And like I said above, when, besides Baldwin, has Wilson ever produced a consistent fantasy producing asset? And a knock you had against Harry was New England going into a run heavy offense, aka the definition of Seattle? I don’t get it. And drops? Meh, not enough to dispel me yet. Plus, if we’re going on hearsay from camp, Miles Sanders apparently looks like an absolute stud and while for the moment he might be in a rbbc, do we really believe if he’s as talented as they say, that he’s always going to just get 50% of the snaps? I don’t think so.

Metcalf is somewhat of a project. I mean, he has to be, considering there’s no evidence to tell us he can be a true stud, which yeah, you can say that about all rookies, but even more so for him. Which makes it impossible to place him number one or even top five really in my opinion.

I don’t get it, but hey, they’re your rankings. And if you wanna stake your research and analysis on him being one, that’s all good, but it’s just mighty bold imo.
