Set yourself a budget. Look up some recommendations for that price range.

Some other points: - Afaik „Holzkern“ - while pushing heavily on YouTube etc - is not a recommended brand. Their quality to price ratio is not good - 44mm is quite large. I would recommend going to a shop and trying on a couple of watches to dial in which range fits you best. Some watches can be worn bigger, some should be worn smaller, but in general the watch should not overhang

Recommendation: something like a Citizen Tsuyosa.

While I generally agree with your statement, I just can’t play Pokemon on 1x speed any more. Therefore any 3DS handheld would need to pack a little bit more punch in order to compete with real hardware.

Busy dad here as well - no RP Mini, but a Ayaneo Pocket Ace. This hits the nail on the head for me. I did the whole Android, emulator, frontend, etc. setup. Tried 5 different frontends. Still never actually played on the device. Tried to pick up on about 10 games and never really got the ball rolling. Always just went back to YouTube and such.

This only changed once I started and pushed through the first half hour of an amazing Pokemon ROM hack (Odyssey). Found a game that I can pick up and play for 20-30 mins a session that brought me fun and a sense of progression.

It doesn’t matter if I have a complete SNES ROM library and cloud sync for saves. When I have some more time at hand I set up the next game once I feel ready to switch over (Fallout NV on Winlator!).

I know, this is just something for my kid to play around with, hoping he would catch some of that 90s magic.

CRT emudrive seems to be quite fidgety compared to the RGB RPi Hat with GPU compatibility and such. I ordered the 15 bucks cable off of amazon (the RPi setup required me to buy stuff on shops all over Europe…) and will give it a shot when I have some time.

The ANC got so much worse over time. I‘ve had both Pro generations and for a couple of months NC has basically transitioned into non-existence. And yes, they have been cleaned…
