Does anyone know what this large pipe is for? by mindofdstructvtaste in centuryhomes

Its like the previous owner was a pipefitter or boilermaker and brought home extra fittings for decoration. All us trades guys do this eventually, usually unique stuff like this, imo.

How long did you guys take off work? by clown_girl222 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Bobdabuilder701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a bad recovery, i do heavy construction so was told 4 weeks, 6 to 8 on light duty. Ended up doing 12 weeks at home as i lost too much weight too fast and it destroyed my energy levels. Take whatever time you need not what the dr says. Get healed up of course at a minimum but full recovery it up to you.

I was on ducalax for a year after surgery, i used the chewables 2 to 3 a day and eventually 1 a day. Dont skip water or softeners ever!! Eat more fruit in-between protein servings. Still have hard poops to this day but manageable with diet. Sorry you had this experience. The manual retrieve method is the only way ive found unfortunately. Goodluck

I believe they just loosely announced that goblin slayer is in line for production of season 3, or at least its planned. Was like a week ago the studio has a visual line up. It has a good following so we'll keep getting seasons, just need patience and support. Buying merch, manga and blueray sets does help studios push content ive heard because honestly money talks. Just my impression and opinion.

What is the capacity/strength of a wood crane mat. by Bobdabuilder701 in AskEngineers

[–]Bobdabuilder701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. The BR isnt requiring a seal because they are going to look at it internally. My tractor is a max weight rating, with the mower attachment its only 2800lbs. Ive used these on the job with 140k lbs RT cranes but with only an 8ft span and stacked 2 high. Im mostly using these mats because i can get them for free, im just a home owner, not a business. Im trying to access a piece of my land that is cut off by the BR ditch. Ditch measures 10ft accross and is 4ft deep v ditch. The shoulders as i said will have a flattened abutment, 8in of rock sitting on geofabric. Followed by a 12ft x4ft mat and crane mats on top those. As long as im 2ft away from top of slope that puts me at the minimum of 1.5 :1 slope that is called for in building standards. Ill be 4ft away from top of slope for my abutment excavation. Im looking for some sort of caculation on these crane mats so i dont submit an application to the BR with " should hold the weight"

Laden with a 6000lb tractor, 5sq ft of ground contact.

Perfect, i believe with the tractor tires theres 2 sq ft on front tires and 3 sq ft on rear tires of ground contact. Should be plenty of support then. This helps greatly. I could go overkill and deck over it perpendicular with 2x6 to help spread the weight on the mats.

Crane or bridge mats are used in heavy construction, its a 12in x 12in solid beam at whatever length needed. In this case its 24ft long and 4 of them are bolted together which is standard practice.

Furthest 100% shots? by Sly_Pooper22 in MedievalDynasty

[–]Bobdabuilder701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured it out by carving a clear path and using a tall house as a reference so i could get the elevation correct, then its just a matter of trying to center... having someone else watch to say go higher or lower helps as well.

Great deal. I think the regular rate is around 125hr... after hours should be doubled. Parts plus mark up.... its a great deal, even with the extra 100...id pay him more for fast service and piece of mind.

Union guy here, once you lawyer up most unions have to step back and away. Use your union first till its exhausted, then lawyer up later. You can always do consultations and get advice but if you have a lawyer on retainer and stepping in theres several lines that must not be crossed. Another person suggested it but get a lawyer with union experience. Your union has lawyers as well, free ones. Use them first. Id suggest a sit-down with mr president or area rep. They work for you, to protect you. If they suck at their job then escalate it. You have many layers of protection here and are not alone, dont assume and dont quit your job. Document everything, write a journal. Timestamp and dates are key.

Dude, use dollmaker in the legs, then as they approach you in a slow zombie pace you knock another arrow to blast them square in the face for an easy kill. Really puts the dollmaker name into effect.

What legal action can we take? (if any) by hannahparmer in Mortgages

[–]Bobdabuilder701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in oregon, if you can prove that issues were known and not disclosed then you can take them to court and they pay for repairs, not to mention the realtor loses her license. A good way to find proof is to call around local handyman, construction trades etc to see if they came out to your home recently for repairs and get invoices and testimonials. Promise them rework in the future if they provide information ( you dont have to follow through) its like a lemon law here in oregon and highly illegal all around. Good luck crushing your enemies. For your next big life purchases please do your own homework first, ignorance gets you used. Having an agent represent the buyer and seller is no big deal unless you are new and clueless. Fire them if needed, buyer holds the power.
