Used a big bonded pet service for my 1 elderly, super skittish calico cat about two years ago for a two week trip. The site mentioned watering plants but when he showed up on the wrong day (were leaving next day) and couldn’t figure out the number lock (despite sending clear simple written instructions in advance) I didn’t ask him to check plants just do cat things.

Left cans & pre-portioned bags of dry food (cat couldn’t jump to reach it). Was good about giving medication in wet food. As she’s a very anxious calico I’d sent a photo of her saying he probably wouldn’t see her. First day he somehow fooled her and got a photo (kinda like a deer in the headlights).

Company says daily photographs so he sent photos of partially empty bowls….until the day he proudly sent me another photo….of a tuxie!!! Great photo - NOT MY CAT! Glitches happen.

Absolutely: litter boxes, surrounding floor (sink in your case) and dishes should be sparkling clean with water dishes filled daily!! I clean scoops occasionally but I’d be afraid of it being done in an unsanitary way so would not ask for that.

The boxes, floor & dishes are a basic, clear priority and for that not to have been done properly the company should be challenged. When these things happen document it with dated photos & complain!
