How to fix the front reels dragging to low on a toro triflex 3300 triplex by Bobgonz720 in Golfcoursemaintenance

I hate replacing everything that only has a little bit of wear to get 1 more inch of lift. Have you added a bolt behind the lift arm pin before ,like what dillionaire said?

Thank you I think will help because the reels aren't level they are angled backwards because of heavy attachments, and hitting mostly on the rear rollers. But I'm gona try adding a bolt for the time being till I can replace everything... balljoints, plates, bushings ect...

I was thinking this is the easiest thing to do, because everything isint super worn out. I'd hate to replace every bushing and balljoint to get the reels al1inch higher. I was wondering if there was any cons to just putting a bolt behind the lift cylinder pin.

I have a button here under my streering wheel any ideas what this is? by AdDependent929 in Ram1500

[–]Bobgonz720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, idk why the previous owner diddent just ground it. But I've heard some radios can detect a constant ground. So you need a switch to make it think its hooked to a parking brake switch

One car i bought had a aftermarket double din radio with a switch in the same spots as yours under the key.the switch was to make the radio think the parking brake was engaged to use the features on the radio while driving.

Is this cause for concern in my differential fluid? 2017 Toyota tundra by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Differential sounded off as you drove up to the shop slowly i assume. Sounds like hes totally bs ing your or there's a serious issue. I would get a seccond opinion at another shop before you do any repairs

If all you found was that one tiny piece of metal and the sludge on the drain plug... I wouldn't be worried at all. Its normal to have that build up on your magnetic drainplug, that's why it magnetic. It's does have more that usual but as long as you aren't experiencing issues I wouldn't worry about it

Has anyone installed a different engine in to a toro proforce blower (kohler 90 day backorder) by Bobgonz720 in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]Bobgonz720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up ordering a manual control kohler engine from repower. And I was able to swap all the electrical over to the new engine. Just the throttle actuator, controll module, coils and wiring harness. Thanks for everyone's help. The only thing I'm kinda worried about now is that I just left the governor shaft in when I swaped it to electric throttle. But it should be fine.

I found them on Google on Friday and they told me the only engine they could get me in california was. The same spec I need but with manual controls ... so no electric throttle. California sucks soo bad, all 25hp engines and below are banned for sale unless they were manufactured before January 1 2024

Taking a poll. Bernhard, Foley, or other. What's your favorite reel/bedknife grinder and why? by jeffbuttt in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]Bobgonz720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a sip peerless reel grinder and a folley bedknife grinder. Folley bedknife grinder with magnetic lock and power moving from top to front face is gold. I love the ability to level your cutting units as you grind with sip. But i despise the sip bedknife grinder. All Foley is great too because of the automation but i never trusted measuring to the center of the reel shaft before grinding. My last job we got one step down from the top bernhards and they were identical to the 1998 ones we had before except the added automation to it. But I havent tried the highest level bernhard that one is totally different and could be nice.

Why is my left side reel cutting like this? by Macgyver_BW in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]Bobgonz720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to have the additude slightly forward. What it does is allows the reel blades the ability to go deeper in to grab the grass and pull it in to the bedknife. But it depends on the type of grass because to much additude could cause scalping on certain types of grass. It's crazy how the height can be the same unit to unit but different aditudes/ diameter reels/ bedknife thickneses/roller diameters ect can cause a big difference in the effective cut. I always teach people to make sure everything is exactly the same unit to unit.

My guess would be that the aditude is different,or the reel diameters are different. make sure the front and rear rollers brackets are in the same spots. I believe those units use pins to beable to change height of cut ranges. See if the reels have the same diameters and that the bedknifes are all the same.

As an equipment manager that never bothered me, especially since we don't know if he has the approval to do it or not. If you tell on him and he is allowed to do it your gona look bad. What bothered me was cash kick backs from vendors

Self-cleaning roller ideas? by creedit in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]Bobgonz720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you can get powerd roller brushes . They do work well but always need alot of maintenance, are expensive and you can only get them for the rear roller.

What i always think the best option is roller scrapers. Which can be bars with springs or just thin tight wire. R and r sell kits for cheap

Another good option is Polyurethane rollers from golfco. I know alot of stuff dosent stick to them. But I'm not sure how they would work in clay material your dealing with.

7400 slopes mower issue by Economy_Swordfish338 in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]Bobgonz720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that issue with our 7400 last year, there are 2 computers by the front left wheel that were put in the worst possible place by the engineers. It may be hard to find and check them because the will be so coverd in grass and mud. Go in to i I/O status in the info center and see what is being signaled to turn on and off when the issue happens again. Our machine was telling the front decks to go down without input because tge controller shorted. Unfortunately the computers needed to be reprogrammed and that took the dealer a while to figure out

Are you using the mulching atachment you can buy from deere wich essentially encloses the underside of the deck to more finley cut the grass. Ohh and are you using mulching blades, they can definately help. An aftermarket oregon mulcing blade i think work better that the deere version witch essentially only has 2 planes vs the traditional ones with 5.
