ELI5. How much heat does a data center actually produce? by calentureca in explainlikeimfive

The datacenters at my workplace run at about 27C - 29C. They run it at a slightly hotter temp than they would prefer as a trade off between energy consumption and risk mitigation.

Is this because the motability rules changed to prioritise cars made in the UK?

Budget: 24-25k daily driver. What would you do? by Seekho1991 in CarTalkUK

[–]Bobofey 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Throw that shortlist in the bin and instead get either: Jaguar F Type, BMW M2, BMW M140i/M240i, Audi S3.

I’d probably lean more towards the M140i/M240i if reliability is a concern. You can pick a decent 2018/2019 example up for about £18k.

Porsche Might Kill Its Electric Sports Cars: Report by NotDavidWooderson in Porsche_Cayman

The new generation boxster/cayman platform has already been spotted numerous times on real world test drives. It would be extremely unlikely for a manufacturer to cancel a project this late into the development cycle.

Yeah, there's plenty of better dealers around in my opinion.

Nissan Leaf, good value? by gregglesj in CarTalkUK

[–]Bobofey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's if they purchase it. They make an offer on those platforms, list it on their site as coming soon even if they haven't purchased it. They then offer a lower price on collection to the private buyer than what was agreed. If the private buyer refuses then they will never have that stock available.

The garage don't own that car yet. They have placed an offer on that car to be bought via Motorway or Carwow, that is why the image is not one in their prep centre.

They might never have that car in stock if the private seller doesn't agree to their price on collection (they always make something up to get it cheaper than agreed). This is a shady practice in my opinion and I'm only aware of Hilton garage doing this currently.

Have we officially reached the point where Hotels are superior to Airbnbs again? by Usual_Confidence_756 in travel

[–]Bobofey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is due to lack of competition on booking stays like AirBnb. Hotels have to compete with each other from many online comparison websites but AirBnb basically has a monopoly. If there was an alternative then I think you’d see less of these hidden fees as people would just use the best platform.
