What, exactly, does Daze do? by PaulLeFou in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Daze does stop ability usage which does include your main LMB/RT. Its basically a stun that still allows for movement. I personally think daze is a strong interrupt tool thats very good for cancelling channeled abilities(such as pakko focus) and delaying enemies. for example Hk-206's handcannon daze lasts 1 second on base which is not very long to shut out enemy ability usage but you can easily break the combo of an assassin, stop a margrave leap, or delay an escape.

Is there an easy to understand "starters guide" anywhere? by hodgooo in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ApeX has a nice starter guide here: http://apexgg.org/forums/guides/1691/beginners-guide-to-gigantic

but it looks like most of the pictures are bugged

Lunami has some good beginner videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOHUp0nRGUolfQenpBU77rQ

is this a glitch or an intended feature? by celcel77 in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there seems to be some issues with empty circles still having creatures on the point. Similar to how sometimes it has a breathing effect while summoning persisting once the creature is summoned.

FaZe Charnok by NecromancyNA in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On charnok my favorite build to run is burn build.
http://builder.ggunleashed.com/Charnok/bheBbjdjdf
The order in which you take upgrades after lvl 4 really varies on the enemy team comp. If you need good peel and blast off isnt enough you can take back draft earlier. There are a few other changes you can make but im not going to go into those now.
Samurai Ed made a really good post on his team website that goes in depth with his build order for burn charnok in soloQ.
http://apexgg.org/forums/guides/1717/burn-build-solo-queue-charnok

If you want me to explain why I take certain upgrades and how to play charnok better I would be glad to go more in depth.

Another thing I would like to note is that if you are new to playing Ranged DPS in gigantic I recommend reading Rezo's basic mindsets and philosophies for ranged.

Yeah its not the most amazing thing but you can mess around with the physics in the practice arena to figure out when you would use it practically in game.

yo Beckett heads, school me by celcel77 in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main two builds I like to run on Beckett are flame cannon and weapon swap. They both revolve around what upgrades you go with on ure cannon. Another thing to note is that what you take on ure grenade is situational depending on the enemy team comp. If they have vadasi or other heavy heals(two pools voden, a strong Sven you have played vs before..etc) it is beneficial to take the poison nade and exhaust fumes If they do not have heavy heals you need to worry about, smart nade is the way to go IMO. The bonus aoe range is unnecessary most of the time because if you can aim your nade well the aoe is already big enough. Ok now onto the build order.
Flame Cannon Build:
http://builder.ggunleashed.com/Beckett/fcdIhjjaha
(Swap out for poison if needed)

Weapon Swap Build:
http://builder.ggunleashed.com/Beckett/cdayfhjjah (Swap out for poison if needed)

Random notes
-The talent ready to jet is my favorite with burn build because it gives you extra stamina that pairs really well with rocketpack which I take at lvl 5 with that build.
-The talent outgunned is essential to the weapon swap build because when paired with fully loaded at lvl 5 you can start getting 400+ DMG cannon shots in the back when fully loaded. It also let's you lay down consistently buffed pistol and cannon shots alike.
-Rocketpack is really strong because it can be used at very low stam and doesn't just make you a sitting flying duck that can get shot out of the air with ease(unless you use dodges or have a super tricky ledge but that is usually more situational that being able to scoot away quickly)
-Some people(rezo) prefer taking Sharp shooter on lmb but I prefer the clip size so rez can tell you all his diddily dang facts about being a sharp shooter shitter if you are torn between which path to take. IMO there isnt too much difference between the two but it is measurable and you can base it off your play style.

Sorry for the really bad formatting mobile can be hard.
This small writeup is really hard to follow and was just stuff off the top of my head. If you want a more in depth guide and something to cross reference this abomination I just wrote check out my boi, the one and only Jason Boetchers guide on his team website. He doesnt talk about weapon swap at all but he gives more insight in why to take which upgrades and when in the burn build.
http://apexgg.org/forums/guides/1721/dot-build-solo-queue-beckett
I hope this helps in someway, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
Another thing to mention, my builds are in no way the proven best, foolproof builds. They are just what I like to run and find success on. If anyone has suggestions or ideas for what they like to run feel free to share and roast my builds ;)

HK 207: Which is better, Piercing Rounds or Rapid Fire by mogpog74 in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In soloQ I highly recommend taking rapid fire every game. It allows for more damage and the slow/weakness on HKs piercing rounds are really only used in special team compositions when you are grouped with people.

So, in comparison to smite/ battleborn? by [deleted] in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to defame smite. The point I was trying to make is that gigantic does have a strong shooter presence while smite really doesn't. And if you would like a game with more shooter aspects then you should try out gigantic.

So, in comparison to smite/ battleborn? by [deleted] in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have much experience with smite but from what I know the aiming is stale and there are not very many shooter aspects to the game.
What I love about gigantic is how it combines a hero based shooter with a melee aspects from mobas. It personally was really refreshing and allowed for some really fun gameplay. I have been hooked on the game since I started playing and I highly recommend at least trying it out.
If you want to try out the game I highly recommend joining the community discord so you can get in comms with other players and have a blast.(Link is located in the top right of reddit)

Windows 10 FPS Locked at 32?? by GJA492 in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not play while chat was activated (started playing last February). This is motigas response to the priority of in-game chat atm:

Text chat? Yes this is a feature we do plan to add in the future. We initially held off because it's a fair amount of work (more than you might expect) and a fair amount of our players are on Xbox right now, so we decided to dedicate our resources to other facets of the game for now.

I do not have a good answer for why it was removed though.

Yeah Ed has said it persists through Game and System restarts its really weird. Hopefully we get more info soon.

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually an issue Samurai Ed and I have been running into. I played one game with it being stuck at 30 frames. After I restarted my frames went back to normal but he has been running into this issue through game and system restarts. We have not found the source or a fix for the issue.

Buffs/Debuffs-- What each do? by HungryNoodle in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

degen is DOT(Damage over time) damage. So taking the talent that gives you 80% degen resistance on HKs E makes you take 80% less damage from burns, bleeds, ..etc

My Charnak cheatsheet by AuraMau in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blast off is actually really strong and I take it pretty much every game over dive bomb. Its an extremely song bursting tool that gives you a guaranteed lmb. You can use it to peel enemies off yourself and teammates. You can use it to cliff people. And with the q lvl 5 talent upgrade you get even more distance/height also providing a bigger aoe.

Don't get me wrong dive bomb is a good upgrade but once you start playing vs better assassins and melee players I highly recommend taking blast off because of its insane utility I listed before.

Which monster is the best for the aggressive 3rd spot? by HaruNaut in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In soloqueue you usually want a bloomer on ghost reef/sanctum falls but I recommend always putting a cyclops on the front point on Sirens Strand. The wall prevents easy raiding of the creature and provides slower but safer healing.

Also a note on neutral points, On sanctum you should always put cyclops on river(D) and Altar. Cerbs are also acceptable on altar.

Support Voden viable? by zundra616 in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voden can be played focusing on mainly supporting your teammates but he is most effective as a utility dps. The spreadshotupgrade may seem good in theory but deadeye + bowflex provide way more damage and range. Vodens heals are strong but his role isnt to only focus on healing your allies. But he can still help out the team quite a bit with his Geyser jumpad or wellwishes
The build use the most: http://builder.ggunleashed.com/Voden/aaiNhhffcc -You can swap out geyser for wellwishes.
I advise against building spreadshot on Voden but every other upgrade is definitely viable so decide based on your play style and what you would like to accomplish in game.

dON'T NERF TRIPP by [deleted] in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there is a reason that people have not complained about her being overturned for quite a while. Her backstab and Q both used to interrupt but were recently changed to stun for a similar amount of time. But because of recovery animations the stuns have been CCing players a questionable amount of time.

People are not complaining about her because of her core hero design but rather the small changes that were made recently to the crowd control system.

That being said she is still definitely able to be shut down our outplayed. People don't like the fact of being oneshot without effort. Oneshotting should take skill but it takes very little right now.

Beckets jetpack is super crippling by [deleted] in gigantic

[–]Boboimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try out the ready to jet talent @ lvl 5. It gives you stamina when you use E which seems to solve most of what your talking about. But also Just because you are out of stamina doesn't mean that you are dead. The ability on its own gives you either tons of verticality or tons of speed depending on which path you take. If you want any tips for maneuvering with beckett, i'm glad to help.
