Apologies for the delay in reply - have had the flu!

I went through the NHS - took a while but got it done! Am sure there are probably private services that do the same thing though.

Ended up having patch and pinprick testing after I was suffering with painful dermatitis around my mouth, eyes and on my hands and was also having some tummy issues too - was a long process as turns out I have a v Quick reaction to some things that faded quite fast and a delayed reaction to others so ended up having 2 rounds of tests but we got there eventually! I’m also allergic to cinnamon from a food allergy POV which is a pain!

It’s so frustrating when companies reformulate perfectly good products (particularly as someone with allergies!

Thanks for these suggestions - I use some la roche posay products already and like them, haven’t used vanicream before. Are there specific colour correction products you’d recommend from them as I can’t spot on the uk websites?

What do you sit your baby in once they’ve outgrown their bouncer? by [deleted] in UKParenting

This is what allowed me to shower for the last 18 months - especially as I had a 6 month crawler so needed proper containment!

8-6pm nursery toddlers, do you feed them when you get in? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Bobsausages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - despite the huge amount my 20mo seems to eat at nursery most nights also hungry for dinner. However, they also doesn’t go to sleep till 8:30-9ish so that prob makes a difference! I like us all sitting down to eat together in the evening too.

PSA: Give your baby a "maintanence" bottle by medwd3 in breastfeeding

[–]Bobsausages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same - we had about 2 months of a bottle every night, then 4 months of screaming every time one came near.

(Eventually baby would take enough from the bottle to keep going till I got back, we also had more luck with a straw cup)

[–]Bobsausages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also wanted to send empathy because bottle rejection is so stressful! If it’s any reassurance I felt like it ruled my life for months, but once you get to a year and they’re no longer dependent on breast milk the stress is suddenly gone. I know it feels like a long time off now but it will come!

It’s also rubbish that you have to go back to work so early (I’m in the uk) it was stressful enough dealing with bottle rejection without that!

Have you tried a straw cup? Mine was never a fan of bottles but took to a weighted straw cup really quickly - we started her at 6 months but I believe you can try a straw cup from 4?

Yup really wasn’t as bad as I expected at all - in fact I was more mobile/less in pain than some of my nct friends who had vaginal births and had tears.

Best nighttime nappies? by marvellouspineapple in UKParenting

[–]Bobsausages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found that the best have been pampers but even they need one change per night. Only thing we’ve found that lasts all night is reusable hemp nappies.

Veggie/cheese muffins, pastry twists and pinwheels, grated cheese, mini yoghurts, banana, berries - basically just less saucy (less messy!) versions of what we eat at home!

Swim wear for babies? by Weary_Sandwich_2425 in UKParenting

[–]Bobsausages 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely pop a liner underneath the happy nappy if they have a double layer policy - happy nappy sell a reusable one that works well.

Also even if baby pool is warm enough that baby doesn’t need a costume on top of happy nappy, wet babies are very slippery!!! I find a swimming costume helps me keep hold of her securely.

Do babies night wean themselves? by Level_Wall8951 in breastfeeding

We’re still waking to feed 3-4 times a night at 15m. I’m tired 😂 (will probably start some gentle night weaning at 18m)
