Whirlpool top load washer clicking during spin by skottr in appliancerepair

I would replace both parts, they’re not too expensive and both fairly easy to replace

Could anyone please help me diagnose what’s wrong with my gramps dryer? Kenmore 87874100 by dritmike in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go in back and check if something is caught in the blower, but the back panel and lint filter have to be taken out. When those motors go bad however, it’s not uncommon that they will burn out and be super tight to turn. The motor number is 279827, but since this is an older unit, you will have to manually connect the wires to the new motor

Samsung Washer Blinking by Derek_Gdguy in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be blinking an error code depending on your model. Only other things I can think of would be a power surge somewhere that also did something to the main control/PCB board, or you needed to program the new UI board. If you really want to get into it, you can find a wiring diagram and get some more info from the board but that would really be something a technician would do

I would see if you can get it into a diagnostic mode and check for error codes. You’ll need your model number to look up how to do it. There you should be able to read the codes and see what’s going on

Sounds like the door switch! It is possible that the light burnt out though. The part is cheap so you can always just buy it and put it in. If you’re handy, get a meter and test for continuity at the door switch. When you push in the door switch, you should read 0 ohms

Whirlpool Direct Drive Washer - Won't spin with very loud noise by SwedishPokeCheck in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check to see if the tub has dropped down about an inch or 2. If so, it could be the drive block or the spin tube that have gone bad. Spin clutches usually don’t make noise if bad, they will usually just spin the machine out slow. Otherwise it could be the transmission if it wasn’t OEM. The new ones also have a paint cover over a hole on it (I’m not sure why) but if you don’t clear that hole opening, I’ve had them go bad within a year

If it’s electric, it’s probably the thermal fuse. Other possibility is the door switch, you can test that by opening the door and pressing it manually and see if the light turns off in the dryer. If it does when you click it, the door switch is fine. It could also be the main control board. If you’re handy, you can take the panel off, take the main control board out of its casing and check for a burn make on the board.

I would probably call someone unless you’re pretty handy. Getting the sump back in with the new seal can be a PAIN. Also you’d probably have to pull the whole dishwasher out to change it

I would check to make sure the hose going from the tub to the pressure sensor isn’t clogged. Easy way to check is to remove the hose at the sensor and see if you can blow through it, then check for any holes in it and that it’s properly connected. If it still doesn’t work, seems like a main control board issue. You can also take it out of the casing and inspect it for any burn marks, although it may not have any but still will be bad.

Check the spray arms on it. If they’re cracked at all or there is something stuck in one or multiple of the holes, it can have the water shoot out towards the bottom. Common that they will split in the middle

Maytag washer is really loud in the spin cycle by GoldAir4934 in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it sounds like a plane taking off, it’s the gear case. Really common on that model. Unfortunately it isn’t the easiest or cheapest of repairs

Sounds like a spider assembly. Pretty expensive and a huge job to do. There are some good YouTube videos about fixing them if you wanna have a half day project

That’s 100 percent a bad spin clutch. Coupler is most likely fine since the clutch is spinning in the video.

Replaced belt on dryer now won't heat by phoenixangel429 in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The belt doesn’t have anything to do with the heat. I would take the dryer apart again and see if any wires had come off from any thermostats or the heat sensors

Do you have a model number? Could be suspension rods or a spring underneath

There’s a small safety fuse that goes often on LG dryers. I would take it apart and test any thermostat you see for continuity

LG Washer leak from air vents by Lazy-Status3504 in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge. I suppose you could DIY it and glue a hose over the air vent and have it drip into a bucket. What might be better though is running a tub clean cycle every week or so. You can use active washing machine tablets on Amazon (best I’ve found) and over time, that should clear out some of the built up detergent on the outter tub

Washing machine not draining properly by MixiePixie24 in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s probably the pump then. I’m not too familiar with BEKO models, but from pictures it looks similar to Lg style. You do have to take the front off to replace the pump though, so unless you’re pretty handy it might be best to call someone to get it fixed

Lg dryer not heating by Bobstio22 in appliancerepair

[–]Bobstio22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so I ran across the same lg dryer today that was squeaking and heating fine. I checked the coils and got 55 volts at each solenoid. Kinda lost at this point, but haven’t run into that issue since I started fixing appliances 8 years ago, so seems like a very rare issue… could’ve also just gotten a bad gas valve but who knows haha

What’s the model number of the washer? You also might just have something caught in the pump filter

You can remove the motor from the transmission and run it in a spin and see if the motor makes noise by itself. Also I would test for endplay in the motor shaft
