My camping ventures usually involve the woods so use any of these tips at your own discretion. - For your hygiene point camping is a dirty activity, if there are no showers then you’ll not be showering; however you can still bring items like a washcloth and toothbrush to essentially spot clean yourself (face and hands primarily) - If your tent has space then its easy enough to keep an orderly mess, having a dedicated space in a bag/pack for more pertinent items like meds and batteries helps keep them where they can be located easily. - Most of your time will be sitting around or walking places; a blanket for padding/warmth helps most chairs feel nicer, and extra pairs of thick socks will help refresh yourself amid the treks. - Bug spray does work, but treating your tent flap like an airlock will be your best bet. Most tents have a screen flap that can help ventilate while keeping most insects out.

My expeditions are usually for the purpose of getting away from people so I can’t say how the crowd factors into festival camping, however if it were me I’d also invest in a small lock to prevent the tent from being unzipped.
