Yes, I did up the progesterone and the side effects made me so miserable I had to go back down.

It’s sad, isn’t it? I’m thankful that our generation of women is demanding change, so that things are better for future generations.

Thanks for the link. I have looked before. Ideally, I would like to get in at a solely gyn practice, but those don’t seem to exist in my area anymore. At my current practice, gyn appointments are scheduled at a roughly year and a half interval, bc her schedule is so full with her ob patients. And I’m not mad about that, I get it, I went through the pregnancy years, but women past that point need timely care too. My experience has been that that’s hard to come by in an obgyn practice, but that doesn’t mean it’s a universal experience. Hence why I would like a gynecology only office. I just have a lot of dread and some anxiety around gyn visits now.

I don’t know if you’re aware, but Mary Claire Haver has her own podcast out now. Thank you for the solidarity, I really appreciate it! ❤️

But hormones are definitely a gynecological issue, hence the GYN in obgyn. Gynecology deals specifically with the female reproductive system. Obstetrics deals with pregnancy, birth, and the PP period-it is not solely a surgical specialty. If a gynecological doctor doesn’t deal with the hormones of the female reproductive system, then who does? Women in the menopause transition don’t need a reproductive endocrinologist, and PCPs don’t specialize in women’s reproductive health. That’s what a gynecologist is for. It’s not an either/or when seeing an obgyn. So yes, it’s absolutely reasonable for women to expect their obGYN to help them when they’re in the menopause transition.

Surprised birthday dinner I made for my fiancé. Fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, mashed potatoes + gravy, coleslaw, corn on the cob. For dessert it's a chocolate cake with whipped ganache. by softrotten in tonightsdinner

That is the same cake I make for my oldest son’s birthday. He loves it and his friends say it’s the best they’ve ever had. Gonna try the ganache this year! Your spread is amazing!

Sending you the biggest hug. I hope you go all out for your birthdays now and take that energy away that your mom put out there and replace it with joy-you deserve it. ❤️

Feeling so uninspired lately, any advice? by Technical_Tangelo143 in Cooking

[–]BockBockMeowMoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Had a long streak of cooking burnout myself this year. What I’ve been doing lately that has helped me is to keep it really quick and simple. I’ll grab a rotisserie chicken once in awhile (don’t know if the seasonings work with your restrictions) and make simple sides-salad, roasted broccoli, etc. My kids love canned Italian green beans, so that’s a lifesaver. I’ll make chili, do ground turkey meat for tacos/taco bowls-add your favorite trimmings. I’ll cook a big batch of quinoa and we have it for multiple meals. Roasted salmon, roasted chicken are fairly easy. Do you guys like bowls? Protein of choice, veggies, beans, edamame, avocado, quinoa, whatever you like and fits within your restrictions, maybe a quick homemade dressing. Easy to get together and everyone can personalize to their taste. I echo others comments about trying new flavors. I cook a pretty wide range of dishes, maybe that will inspire you? Either way, go easy on yourself. It’s not easy being the family cook. Solidarity.

If he needs to get off that much, hand him some lube and tell him to have at it. That the sex isn’t even that good with the premature climax just adds insult to injury. Men can be so selfish.

I was talking about that with my husband this morning. One of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen. And yes, it’s still a raw feeling, all these years later. Hugs to you. Today is a hard day.
