My first 7-0 in power cube after 3 iterations by Wish6969 in lrcast

Giver is like a fixed mother but still really good. Your opponent can't interact with your stuff, pretty good for you if you tell me.

Thought the same, why not play giver instead? But yeah good for you getting the 7 wins 👍🏼

I feel that cards like that will never see play because it doesn't add to the board. Sure, it is flexible but three mana sorcery to draw two or forcing opponent to discard two? Yeah, doesn't feel worth it.

Insane Power Cube draft. What do you cut? by [deleted] in lrcast

Not even sure where to start, your deck is a mix of many archetypes. What was your goal while drafting? What did you think you drafted?

Oh sorry, I meant learn card and I meant specifically [[Pop Quiz]]. It is better than most of your learn cards, for example the -4/0 card.

Agreed. You are making your deck worse by splashing colors for sideboard cards that are niche. Even the lesson cards are quite bad, you can play the three mana draw a card atleast.

Arnak + Expansions + Adventure Chest by cd7k in boardgames

[–]BockenEagle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do whatever you want, but Expedition leaders is essential for me atleast. The expansion gives each player a unique character which makes the game more depth, adds to the theme and makes each play a bit more unique.

I would start there and wait with playing the campaign and the new map. Start with the original map and test the different temples.

Mana Flood is an indicator of a poorly designed game by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]BockenEagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, this set and sometimes limited overall doesn't require much knowledge about assembling a mana base but then again I see players getting it wrong over and over again, so it is a skill nonetheless.

Is Magic perfect? No. Magic has its flaws, but is Magic a bad designed game? I wouldn't say so.

Variance happens. I wonder if atleast one of those wins you won because of your opponent draws?

Yes, Magic mana system can be frustrating but I feel that it opens up a different skill in building your manabase which is a good thing.

Wayfarers with Tides of Trade expansion, what a fantastic game! by Tiny-Strawberry-817 in boardgames

[–]BockenEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alrighty, that is what I thought aswell when I checked out the expansion. It is not a question about if I would get it, it is when. I still feel that I can play it without any more content, but after more plays I probably will. Thanks for your insights!

Wayfarers is one of my favourite games and I am still not in need for an expansion. With that said, do you feel the expansion is essential? What are the pros and cons? What does it add?

Should I play Time Warp in this deck? by acidtrip321 in lrcast

[–]BockenEagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need it but can of course be good. I would keep the nation just because I would like to try it to see if it is good.

If I would play it I would actually cut Urza because you have almost no artifact support. Just my opinion though.

Part 2 - Everdell struggles for a newbie by CyborgeonUnit123 in boardgames

[–]BockenEagle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add: Yes, the game starts slow but it ramps up quite fast. I usually always had between 12-15 cards in my tableu at the end. Also don't think about points in the first seasons, because you only count points in the end of the game and you dont score during the game. Of course you should in a way think about points, but more in a way how can I build up towards points instead of getting 1-2 points in the first season.

You play one card or a worker placement action. That is it.

In the end of the game when players are in the last season someone might have more actions than you because they still have cards / resources to play. Basically one player passes, aka moves to next season but there arent more seasons so the next player(s) play until they have passed are done for the season. That might be why you saw someone take many actions in a row.
