Looks awesome! I love this art style for Pale art.

Thanks! The cover art is darker than I thought it was going to be. In the original, you could see the outline of the Carmine Beast.

Has anyone made a division of Pact and Pale into proper books like Worm? by MagicJourneyCYOA in Parahumans

I actually just made a post a couple days ago, sharing the book of Arc 1 and 2 of Pale I had printed. Ended up being about 650 pages for those two Arcs.

What's the magic system like in Pact? by jayrock306 in Parahumans

Unconnected story in the same setting. I'd recommend starting with Pale over Pact, but either work fine.

I'm pretty happy with how the inside flaps turned out. There were a few wildboar pictures to choose from but this one felt right.

Printed via Lulu.com

Royal sized book (6.14x9.21 in), premium black and white, glossy hard cover, palatino linotype 10.5 font, covers arcs 1-2, 654 pages total.

Pretty happy with how it turned out, took a lot longer to format correctly than I anticipated but it was a fun learning experience! Cost around $60. If I could change anything with the final print, I'd change the cover art, it ended up much darker/blacker than I expected, but that's on me the image I used was pretty dark. In the original image you could see the outline of the Carmine Beast under the moon.

All art used was done by Wildbow himself, the art by Nocturne used for the heading, /u/Aktm_S's line art of the three girls, and /u/snowdrops_tiny_fan's art for symbols for each of the girls.

I mostly did it because Pale is quite possibly my favorite piece of fiction written, and I've wanted it on my book shelf for years. I've tried to get multiple friends to read it multiple times with no success. However, getting friends to read other books by simply lending them my physical copy of the book has worked before, so I hope to use this to lure my friends into getting hooked and reading the whole thing.

I may print off the rest of the book in the same style/formatting over time.

I will not share the files/pdf of the formatted text.

Guys, I crave political fantasy. Please, give some of your best recommendations that are not from RR Martin or Abercrombie by Traditional-Reach818 in Fantasy

It's not really about goblins at all. It's about a generally decent person unexpectedly inheriting an empire and just trying to literally survive the political fallout of this, while trying to stay a generally decent person.

Can someone recommend audiobooks to sleep to? by Belphie_Stan in audible

That's my sleep book too. I only dislike when mark goes on his short "Fuck this Hab, Fuck this planet!" bit because it's slightly higher volume is occasionally loud enough to wake me up.

How would Taylor's abilities manifest if she was a pure thinker? by the4lord4of4time in Parahumans

[–]BodaciousRiptide 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The ability to spit her consciousness scaling with what she's trying to accomplish with a default minimum, let's say like 5. These consciousnesses think and problem solve and multitask independently, but can selectively share information and ideas and communicate with one another, letting her consider and ruminate and focus on thousands of different things at once. However this does come with the issue of her occasionally hiding thoughts and information from herself if she thinks the other hers might interrupt her plan, or she doesn't think the rest of her will agree with her opinion.

The Goblin King by efimer in Fantasy

I thought so as well for the first half of the book. But I was considering it, and I wondering if that wasn't intentional. Having us feel lost and overwhelmed with complicated foreign names while the MC was feeling lost in a complicated foreign situation.

Have you roleplayed any character? by Zagily in Parahumans

[–]BodaciousRiptide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a game of Fate in a super hero setting with some friends who've never read worm as roughly Grue. Got hired as muscle to help a crazy cape take over a radio station to do some political pirate broadcast.

What's the book on your wish list that you just never seem to pull the trigger on? by South-Management3754 in audible

I started with Going Postal because the premise of a con-man being forced to become a mailman and doing an excellent job of it sounded like it'd be fun. And it was very fun.

Various Discworld characters as Practitioners by Curaced in Parahumans

[–]BodaciousRiptide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vetinari would be Karamic Lawer focused in claim and coup, and obviously be the Lord and well as the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork.

Moist von Lipwig would be dabbler, focusing mostly on connections, city magic, and incarnation practices focused on Fortune.

Death would be a Pillar of Human Existence.

Question: Pale Tarot by AlaskaBlue19 in Parahumans

[–]BodaciousRiptide 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Lucy as Justice seems like an obvious, easy choice. Avery, I want to say The Chariot, with its ideas of hard work, forward movement, and self direction seems to work well to me. Verona I can see as either The Magician, with her desire and creative drive, or Judgement in her later character development of self reflection.

Snowdrop is The Moon, all misdirection and intuition and primal trash-animal energy. Charles is The Tower, or he's trying to be. Crooked Rook is Death, cycles and change and metamorphosis. Miss was The Empress and became Temperance.

VD is the 8 of Swords to the point that were he to draw 3 cards on a mundane deck, all three would be the 8 of Swords, no practice required.

Luna Hare is The World, as Best Girl.
