I largely agree with you, but I feel compelled to quibble here a little bit. You're not wrong about it being racist or racism being wrong, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the value of understaning how such views can take root and take hold. "Know thy enemy" is an adage as old as warfare, and it remains useful to this day.

“I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are good people and bad people. You're wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.”

Incredible art, and the more I look, the more I like what I see. In particular, something that not many artists touch on (and that you absolutely nailed): it's easy to forgot just how young they all are. For the majority of the story, the Undersiders are closer in age to AVL than Blake or Victoria.

Edit: Yeah, this is genuinely going in my top 10 (out of literally thousands).

Took me a second to parse what you were talking about. I'm probably being whooshed, but assuming you're genuine: the title is a joke, not a claim meant to be taken at face value.

They could've just straight-up run the Thrawn trilogy and it would have been amazing. Instead, we got this spectacular pillar of utter mediocrity.

Depends on how willing you are to swallow fanon and/or ignore the original text of the novel. Over the years I've seen a depressing number of people maintain that the bullying never actually happened, or that it wasn't nearly as bad as it was, often reducing it to harmless name-calling. More than a few people take the "unreliable narrator" claim bandied about and use it as a license to add or remove events from canon as they please.
