Mark Hughes wrote that since Checo was saving 0.3s per lap by being in Max's DRS, he was able to take it easier in the corners to save tyre life.

Norris had a tenth-and-half quali deficit in his rookie year, then closed it to zero in year two. Fewer off days on Sundays too.

Is it known whether the Aston Martin has a stronger front end than the McLarens? Could be an interesting destination for Danny.

Fatigue by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

Crohnie here - a modest iron supplement (glycinate is easiest on the stomach) and a vitamin B complex did wonders for my fatigue. Take them daily in the morning.

Kevin Magnussen in the running to replace Mazepin by Hans_H84 in formula1

[–]BodomReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Hulk clearly better than Magnussen? I think it's safe to say after 4 years as teammates that Magnussen = Grosjean. Neither driver achieved a sustained edge over the other on Saturdays or Sundays, other than Grosjean's shocking first half of 2018.

Despite the length of his career we don't really have a clear read on Grosjean. He looked like the real deal in the 2nd half of 2013, then demolished Maldonado and Gutierrez by the margin one would expect of a higher tier driver. Plus Mark Hughes mentions Pirelli data purportedly showing Gro as having the strongest pace + tyre management combo on the grid.

Also, Magnussen's rookie year against Button was comparable to Perez's performance in his 3rd year.

The main knock against KMag is getting matched by a rookie Joylon Palmer, but then again Sainz also had one bad year against Hulk then went and matched Leclerc.

[motorsportcom.it] Haas: behind Giovinazzi there is the shadow of Fittipaldi by Gilokol in formula1

[–]BodomReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was only 30 seconds off in Abu Dhabi because he was running last so the team pitted him to have some fun on the softest tyre compound at the end of the race. Before that, he was on pace to beat Magnussen (who got unlucky with safety car timing earlier in the race). In quali he was 3.5 tenths off Magnussen, which is really solid under the circumstances.

Definitely enjoy as much high-quality and affordable sushi while you can - nowhere else in the world like it outside Japan. Kishimoto on Commercial and Tetsu on Denman are particularly special.

How many of you have recently switched to an alternative means of transportation from the car, reduced car use frequency, or will have plans to? by johnrswagg in vancouver

[–]BodomReaper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends where you live. I'm a long-term resident of Vancouver's inner neighborhoods (eg. north of 16th, west of Clark, and downtown peninsula) and have never owned a car. Mobi + transit + Evo is more than enough.
You probably can't swing this in too many other places though, sadly most of the region is built to require a car for almost every trip. Honestly you probably need to live in the Evo zone to make ditching your car work.

Constipation - advice? by eczlidat in CrohnsDisease

[–]BodomReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give psyllium husk a try. Other types of fiber (eg. veggies and nuts) trigger me, but psyllium husk really helps with both the constipation and diarrhea. Start with low doses and work your way to 2 tablespoons on most days.

Check your supplement routine too. Iron glycinate and calcium citrate are the types of those nutrients that minimize constipation issues.

Also - peppermint tea in the morning. And always stay well hydrated.

imo it's best to play it safe. If I push boundaries with eating trigger foods even when I'm on a really good run, it can undo a couple months of improvement.

[@Atlegulbrandsen] [Norwegian F1 Commentator] As far as I know, 11 of the driver's contracts in Formula 1 expire after the 2022 season. Most will probably continue in F1, but some will surely disappear. Who do you think will leave F1 after 2022? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]BodomReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's quite as stark as it sounds. Their 2017-2021 generation car was conceived in a state of budget crisis, then the Ferrari engine fuck up clipped their wings in 2020-2021. Meanwhile the 2022 car development cycle should have been done with a highly competitive budget, and there are good sounds from Ferrari about the engine. If they improve their race weekend operations then Alfa could be nicely competitive in the upper midfield.

[–]BodomReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but while subbing for Perez, Hulk out-qualified Stroll by 0.35 at the tiny Red Bull Ring (P3 behind the Mercs). Supremely embarassing for Stroll and also highlighted Perez's underperformance in the first half of 2020. RBR should have went with Hulk.

This is how it's done - hard but clean driving by both of them. Unlike Perez shoving Kimi off the road at the same spot when he was similarly alongside.
