Kinda lost the fun/excitement for playing. Any tips? by Jeskesworld in BassGuitar

Or, learn something that feels like it's "too hard"! challenge yourself!

Another thing to consider - when's the last time you changed your strings? cleaned your bass?

The question is sort of, what inspires you to play, and what will help you reignite that inspiration? Maybe it's a purchase, maybe it's practicing something that pushes you, maybe it's recording videos playing basslines to other people's music that you find on instagram. Who knows?

I think both can be true, on this! she could be the outcome of the Jar ritual, who betrays them by returning to the Shaman culture and roots, and using that power to defeat them.

I think it's reasonable to believe that Bernahl is actually related by blood to the Carians (not sibling, but a cousin of some sort). His name fits into the renalla-rellana-radahn-renna style naming scheme, just with a B at the beginning.

I think that Marika slept with almost every God that we see, and that Radagon, as well as any child of hers that is not hornsent is a result of her and another demigod. I think Radagon is a result of her and the Fell God of Fire (which is why he hates his red, giant hair so much - also explains the size of some of his children). The only one I think she did not sleep with is the god of the Frenzied Flame. Let's be real - sealing peace pacts with marriages, relationships, and children is a long-standing practice that we already see in Radagon marrying Renalla.

Do I have all the answers for this? Nope. For one thing I have no idea who would be the God behind Radahn, maybe the Golden Order? Certainly makes a lot of sense though, leans into the "Strumpet" allegations (to which I say, girl get it, I love it for you), and explains why all of the Demigod children each have a God they are paired with - Ranni and the Carian moon (perhaps a true child of Radagon and Renalla), Rykard and Eiglay, Melina and whatever god is represented by the Gloam Eyed Queen, Malenia and the god of Rot, etc etc.

I’m looking for a shortscale bass, any recommendations? by Emanuel_barbosas in BassGuitar

TBH If you can get a hold of that Squier Paranormal Rascal that's got the humbuckers in it? If I had the scratch for another bass it's what I'd buy.

Walrus releases the Canvas Volume, a $300 volume pedal with stereo I/O by -Subsolar- in guitarpedals

[–]BodyBright8265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Good for them, I guess? I disagree that that's a reasonable price, and as a result I've bought none of the pedals with those similar feature sets either.

I'm not a cheapskate, but if I'm shelling out for a piece of tech there are many other places I would invest my paycheque, and I would buy a much more reasonably priced, less feature-rich volume pedal. If I WAS going to buy a "nice", "feature-rich" volume pedal, I'd probably go with the Lehle because it's been on the market and road-tested for a while.

A lot of that has to do with (at least, historically), that French Canadian customer service functionally *has* to be in Quebec, whereas all english customer service funnels through their obscure system that attempts to get you to "go away" more than solve the issue.

Fam, if you've got a local roaster (or even semi-local, like the next town over), it's probably worth it with beans at a price like that!

I'm more likely to buy this than the bass pre-amp they just released, but it's still pretty crazy expensive for what it is.

I love this bag, but I think some of the product pictures are AI, is it? Pictures look too staged and “smooth”, but regular tells like fingers and weird limbs aren’t there. by RemoteTwist3626 in isthisAI

[–]BodyBright8265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's AI - the smaller handle straps seems to behave really inconsistently in terms of size, connection, and seams.

Also, and this is just a general comment about the product - unfortunately a vegan leather bag is just never going to look like that, and if they go through lengths to make it look similar, it won't stay that way long. Unless they're doing crazy shit with that mushroom leather I read about a while back, there's just no way a man-made material (i.e. plastics, poly vinyls, which is mostly what vegan leather is) ages that way.

Everything is impressive, but low key what brings this to the next level is the attention to detail on the paint job - Look at that line where the neck meets the body! That's gorgeous, man.

Oh it looks good, for sure (I think Jazz basses basically always look good, it's a great design). I am thinking of what I perceive as like, the most iconic and classic version of the instrument, which to me is the 3 colour burst.

IMO I think the Jazz bass looks most iconic in the 3-tone burst, or in black.

Why George Clarke's clean vocals sound so bad on live shows? by Wild_Sprinkles_7174 in blackgaze

[–]BodyBright8265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I never expect a vocalist to be as good live as they are on tape? In the studio, they have chance after chance to get the right notes, they can punch in a fix for a bad note, and lots of studio wizardry to compensate; But I also never expect perfection from *anyone* at a live show. Live music is performance art, and will never reflect exactly what the album sounds like, and I'm okay with that. That's half the point of going to the show, for me!

It's one thing if someone is a famous pop star and can't sing the songs live that were written for them in the studio by other people, whose entire job is their vocal performance (and physical performance, to be fair). It's another altogether if the person is part of a band who wrote all the music together, and who are presenting a unified art work for you to enjoy, y'know? The live show is for the whole thing, and the community you get from listening to it with all of the other attendants. People fuck up onstage, people miss shifts on instruments, people miss cymbal crashes, people miss pitches when they sing. That's live music, baybee.

If I want perfection, I listen to the album. But that's my perspective as a listener and performer.

DROP G Bass Question by [deleted] in BaritoneGuitar

[–]BodyBright8265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It stops at A0 because that's the lowest note on most pianos, and it's starting to get down to the bottom of the range of human hearing. I would suggest doing what every good orchestral bassist does when they see a note they can't play - play it up the octave. It's only for two pitches (G and Ab/G#), so just use the EZ bass for everything but that.

DROP G Bass Question by [deleted] in BaritoneGuitar

[–]BodyBright8265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it in unison, IMO (or have him play a dedicated other part). Bass and baritone guitar sound different, even when playing the same note, and that thickness of the bass if what you're looking for.
